We are delighted to share that Niamh Green will be joining St George's as our next Head.

At St George's, our girls grow fearless and free. Niamh has spent the last 22 years in girls' schools, at Woldingham, Sherborne Girls, Godolphin and Mayfield before becoming Head of Roedean, where 2024 brought the school's best A-level and GCSE results in a decade.

She takes up the role in next year, succeeding Carol Chandler-Thompson, who leaves to become Director of Education for a global schools group and will stay connected to St George's as a Member of Council.

Niamh met our pupils and staff during the selection process. She said: "The girls I met were articulate, energetic and compassionate, with clear ambition and pride in their school. I see a committed staff and a real breadth of opportunity for all pupils from age two to 18. I am very much looking forward to championing this remarkable school."

Boarding school shaped us with laughter, mischief, and friendships that stayed.
