Making a Difference at Leadburn Community Woodland 🌲🪵
A team from the College of Science and Engineering recently volunteered to support conservation efforts at Leadburn Community Woodland. Partnering with local conservation group, Friends of Leadburn Community Woodland, they helped remove invasive rhododendrons in Whim Wood—part of Whim Bog, a protected Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). A huge well done to everyone involved!

Congratulations Tiffany 👏
Congratulations to Dr Tiffany Wood who has received an Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award. 👏
Dr Wood is passionate about using the physics of complex fluids to develop new innovations that will help people live more sustainably and in better health. She has received a Innovate UK Women in Innovation award which will further support her business ventures.
Dr Wood is the CEO and co-founder of Dyneval, inventor of DAINTech, and the co-founder and former Director of the Edinburgh Complex Fluids Partnership.
She accepted her award plaque from the Innovate UK Business Connect team on the 7 November and after, gave an inspiring seminar for students and staff titled ‘The power of physics: improving efficiencies and sustainability for a better future’.
