As we near Halloween, today's post is UV body paint! Great as a novelty factor in anatomical body painting and for Halloween fun!
This photo is from the Night at the Museum event with Glasgow University. What a fantastic event with curious visitors! πŸ¦΄πŸ’€

Today's post (a rather late one!) is of the anatomy of the abdomen. This was created for a CASE event at Edinburgh Medical School The University of Edinburgh
Body painting can be used for clinical skills, allowing students to visualise the anatomy whilst examining their patient.
Remember you can tag us & share your arts-based anatomy or halloween themed anatomy!

Today's photo is from a clay workshop we did at the University of Edinburgh Neurological Society's conference 'Neurology to Neuroscience'. This is the first time we tried making sagittal sections of the brain so the students could identify and create different parts of the brain. We had a great time and had lovely feedback. Clay, just like body painting is messy, but you can take it home, let the air drying clay set, and then paint it if you want! 🧠

Today's photo is of the anatomy of the hand set against the historic doors in the Old Medical School Teviot Place The University of Edinburgh, Anatomical Museum, Teviot Place, Edinburgh, The University of Edinburgh
The beauty of anatomy, is that we can feel a lot of it, helping us to learn our anatomy and to remember things like actions of muscles.

In the lead up to Halloween, we'd like to share photos from past events with you. Sadly for the time being we can't host any events, so we want to take a look back at some of the events we have hosted and been invited to participate at.
As we share our photos, we'd like to invite you to share photos of your own arts-based anatomy learning. These can be photos from Art-Beat events, revision for an exam or even from past Halloween's where you've created something anatomical. Tag us so we can see your photos!
Today's photo is from an event with Medesthai in London, who awarded us the 2017 STEAM Education award. We do love a bit of body painting! It's messy, fun and a great way to learn your surface anatomy! 🎨

We'd like to say a huge welcome to new & returning students at the University of Edinburgh!
Due to the restrictions at the University, we are altering the way we will help our students with their anatomy using arts-based learning. We will announce these new and exciting changes soon, watch this space!
