Whether you are starting from zero, reconnecting with your Greek heritage, preparing for an exam or simply want to speak Greek more naturally.

Online lessons for adults, children and teenagers — beginner to advanced.

Γεια σας! I’m Alkiviadis (Αλκιβιάδης), a certified Greek teacher from Greece, and I’m here to help you make real progress in Greek, whether you’re starting from zero or already speak some Greek and want to become more confident!

Do you understand Greek but your mind goes blank when it’s time to speak?

Do you have Greek family or a Greek partner and wish you could communicate more naturally?

Are your children growing up abroad and you want them to develop their Greek and stay connected to their heritage?

Or perhaps you’re moving to Greece, preparing for an exam, or simply want to learn Greek properly from the beginning.

Whatever brings you to Greek, we’ll build your lessons around you.

A little about me:

I’m a native Greek speaker with a university degree in Education and professional teaching experience with both children and adults.

I have taught at the Greek School of Glasgow in Scotland and have been teaching Greek online full-time since 2018.

Over the years, I’ve worked with learners of many different ages, nationalities and levels, from complete beginners learning their first Greek words to advanced students who want to improve their fluency, accuracy and confidence.

Lessons designed around your goals!

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all lessons!

Your lessons are one-to-one and personalized according to your level, goals, interests and learning style.

Depending on what you want to achieve, we can work on:

-Speaking and conversation

-Listening and understanding natural Greek

-Reading

-Writing

-Grammar and vocabulary

-Greek for everyday life in Greece

-Greek for heritage and bilingual learners

-Exam preparation

If your main goal is speaking, we can put much more emphasis on conversation!

If you prefer a structured course, we can work systematically through grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, speaking and writing.

And if you already know Greek but feel that your knowledge is a little scattered, we can identify the gaps and create a clear plan to move forward!

How will we learn?

I combine structured teaching with practical, interactive activities so that you don’t simply study Greek, you actually use it.

Depending on your needs, we can use:

-Official Greek textbooks and workbooks

-My own teaching materials

-Interactive presentations and activities

-Real-life dialogues and role-plays

-Flashcards and spaced repetition

-Short stories and simplified Greek texts

-News and cultural topics adapted to your level

-Listening activities

-Games and quizzes

-Conversation based on situations you may actually experience in Greece

I especially like creating situations where you have to think and communicate in Greek, because this helps turn passive knowledge into language you can actually use!

Greek for children and heritage learners:

I also have extensive experience teaching children and teenagers, including children growing up outside Greece.

Lessons can help them develop speaking, reading and writing while maintaining a positive connection with the Greek language and culture.

For younger learners, I use interactive activities, games, stories and age-appropriate materials to keep lessons engaging and productive.

Exam and specific-goal preparation:

I can also help students preparing for the Certificate of Attainment in Greek, Ellinomatheia, and other specific language goals.

I have worked with students preparing for levels from A1 to C1, and I can help you understand what is expected in the examination and develop the skills you need.

I have also helped students prepare their Greek for Cypriot citizenship interviews and related language requirements.

My teaching philosophy:

Learning a language can be challenging, so I believe that a good teacher should be patient, encouraging and adaptable.

Some students love grammar and structure. Others learn much better through conversation, examples and real-life situations.

My job is not to force you into one particular way of learning.

My job is to find the approach that works for you.

I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and using Greek from the very beginning.

When students feel relaxed, motivated and supported, they learn much more effectively.

Ready to start?

You don’t need to wait until your Greek is “good enough.”

You don’t need to know the alphabet.

And you certainly don’t need to speak perfectly!

Start where you are! Tell me where you want to go, and we’ll create a clear path to get you there!

Book your trial lesson and we can talk about your goals, assess your current level and decide together on the best way to move forward!

Gyros or souvlaki?

Your next Greek food order starts here! 🇬🇷

Choose your answer:

👉 Προτιμώ τον γύρο.
I prefer gyros.

👉 Προτιμώ το σουβλάκι.
I prefer souvlaki.

👉 Μου αρέσουν και τα δύο!
I like both!

💡 A tiny Greek lesson:
ο γύρος → Προτιμώ ΤΟΝ γύρο.
After «προτιμώ» (I prefer), «ο» becomes «τον».
But «το σουβλάκι» stays «το σουβλάκι»!

Feeling hungry? Try this too:

Χωρίς κρεμμύδι, παρακαλώ!
Without onion, please!

👇 Εσύ τι προτιμάς;
What do you prefer?
Tell me in Greek!

Save this for your next Greek meal. Explore the full mini-lesson in the «Τι προτιμάς; | This or That» collection on WeeGreek.

Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο 2026

The World Cup is here, so let’s learn Greek through football!

In Greek, country names usually come with an article:

η Γαλλία — France
η Βραζιλία — Brazil
το Μεξικό — Mexico
ο Καναδάς — Canada

In everyday Greek, we can also call the World Cup:

το Μουντιάλ
the World Cup

For example:

Βλέπω το Μουντιάλ.
I am watching the World Cup.

Παρακολουθώ το Μουντιάλ.
I follow / watch the World Cup.

And if you want to say “I support…”, you can say:

Υποστηρίζω την Αργεντινή.
I support Argentina.

Υποστηρίζω τη Βραζιλία.
I support Brazil.

Υποστηρίζω το Μεξικό.
I support Mexico.

A very useful question is:

Ποια χώρα υποστηρίζεις;
Which country do you support?

Or more naturally when talking about football:

Ποια ομάδα υποστηρίζεις;
Which team do you support?

The 2026 World Cup is the biggest one ever, with 48 national teams and a new Round of 32 after the group stage. That means we have a perfect opportunity to learn many country names in Greek.

In the graphics, you can see all the teams taking part, with the country name in Greek and English.

Try to choose 3–5 countries and make simple sentences:

Υποστηρίζω την Ισπανία.
I support Spain.

Μου αρέσει η Ιαπωνία.
I like Japan.

Σήμερα παίζει η Γαλλία.
France is playing today.

Η Αργεντινή παίζει με την Αυστρία.
Argentina is playing against Austria.

Εσύ; Ποια χώρα υποστηρίζεις;

🎉🇬🇷 A huge congratulations to all 6 of my amazing students (and everyone else) who passed the Ellinomatheia exams this year across A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1! 🙌💙

Your hard work, dedication, and love for the Greek language truly paid off! 🏆📚 Each of you has shown incredible determination and I couldn’t be prouder.

Whether it was late-night study sessions, endless vocabulary practice, or pushing through grammar challenges you did it! 💪✨

And remember, it’s perfectly fine if you choose not to sit for the exams. Learning Greek for the joy of it is just as wonderful! ❤️ So, bravo to all my students who keep learning simply because they love the language! 📖💙

Μπράβο σε όλους σας! 👏👏👏
Here’s to the next step in your Greek language journey! 🚀🇬🇷
