Emotion Works is a long-standing third sector organisation based in Scotland supporting hundreds of schools, early learning settings, and ASN services deliver high quality and impactful emotional education Created by teacher, curriculum designer and educational consultant Claire Murray, the Emotion Works Approach is the result of a 12 year development process originating in Claireβs own classroom practice and drawing on her strong academic background in Psychology and Education. The approach is theoretically principled, academically endorsed and has now been widely piloted and practitioner approved in a variety of educational and related settings in Scotland and beyond. Emotion Works provides training and resources for primary teachers and early years practitioners to help deliver emotional learning and literacy experiences linked to Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland. Our ASN workstream also provides specialised resources and training for adults who work with children, young people and adult clients who have additional support needs relating to learning, communication and emotional wellbeing. Our 'Additional Support Framework' supports professionals and carers working within the GIRFEC agenda, National Attainment Challenge and related policy contexts. Since covid we have extended our online membership service to include online training modules and practitioner support alongside an extensive bank of digital resources practice ideas to suit all ages and stages.
