Many of us assume that education ends when we leave school, college or university. In reality, we never stop learning!
For decades, research has shown that lifelong learning helps adults develop new skills, improve wellbeing, strengthen communities, and adapt to an ever-changing world.
Lifelong learning enables us to develop personally and professionally, broaden our horizons and remain engaged with the world around us.
Adult learning has the power to transform not only our careers, but also lives and worldviews. It is never too late to learn something new.

With the UK's return to Erasmus+, we have a unique opportunity to reconnect with European networks and bring high-quality adult education, training, and international collaboration back to learners, educators, and organisations across the UK.

Whether you are an adult learner looking to develop new skills, a trainer seeking international collaboration, or an organisation interested in innovation and professional development, now is the time to act.
Get in touch with us to explore the opportunities that Erasmus+ can offer and discover how international collaboration can support your learning, professional growth, or organisational development.

Erasmus+ Returns! What This Means for Scotland

After years of uncertainty following Brexit, the UK’s formal return to Erasmus+ from 2027 marks a major turning point for education, training, youth mobility, and European cooperation.

For Scotland, this is particularly significant.
Erasmus+ has always been far more than a student exchange scheme. It supports vocational education and training, staff mobility, youth work, adult learning, school partnerships, and strategic cooperation projects across Europe. It creates long-term institutional relationships, not simply one-off placements.

The return of Erasmus+ means schools, colleges, universities, VET providers, third sector organisations and SMEs in the UK can begin preparing now for the 2027 funding round, with the next Call for Proposals expected in autumn 2026 and applications likely opening in November 2026.
This is not simply about mobility; it is about reconnecting the UK to Europe through education, shared values, and long-term collaboration.

At CLP Scotland, we see this as an opportunity to rebuild partnerships, strengthen international learning pathways, and support organisations ready to re-engage with European programmes.
Scotland is ready. Europe is open again.

CLP had the pleasure of attending the Citizens Rights Project Europe Day Conference: From Migration Narratives to Lived Realities.

This important event brought together researchers, policymakers, civil society organisations, and European communities to reflect on the lived experiences of EU and other European nationals in Scotland, particularly in the context of migration narratives, public discourse, rights, and belonging. The conference focused on how immigration debates shape both policy and everyday life for European citizens in Scotland.
Festival of Europe Scotland has really created a valuable space for dialogue and reflection :)

Fantastic news for education, mobility, and international collaboration: the UK is returning to the Erasmus+ programme next year! 🥳

This marks an important step forward for students, educators, researchers, youth workers, and organisations across Europe. Erasmus+ has always been far more than student exchange. It is a powerful platform for cooperation, innovation, skills development, cultural understanding, and long-term partnerships.

The return of the UK opens new opportunities for schools, universities, VET providers, adult education centres, NGOs, and public institutions to reconnect, collaborate, and build stronger European projects together.

We are excited to step back into this European space. We are open to new collaborations, strategic partnerships, and joint project development across education, research, training, and innovation. We are ready to reconnect, create, and go back in the game.

A stronger, more connected European education space benefits everyone.
It is good to be back, Europe 🇬🇧🇪🇺
