Spring Oscars Spring at Oscars is run by Action for Children and operates Breakfast Clubs, After School Clubs and Holiday Clubs in Scotland.

We have 10 different locations and each club offers both indoor and outdoor areas for a range of exciting activities! Our After School Clubs are open Monday to Thursday from 2.45pm - 6.00pm and on a friday from Midday - 6.00pm. Our Holiday Activity Programmes operate from 7.45am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Diverse sporting and artistic activities and excursions are offered all supervised by professional qualified staff.

Today marks the very first Scottish Employability Day — and we're proud to be part of it! 🎉

At Direct Partners, we've spent over a decade proving that the right training partnership can genuinely change lives. Our relationship with Spring Oscars , a childcare provider across Edinburgh and East Lothian, is one of our best examples: since 2013, around 65% of their workforce has come through our pre-employment courses, Guaranteed Interviews, and ongoing mentorship into a Modern Apprenticeship.

And that partnership keeps growing. Thanks to our connection with Laura Adie, Operations Manager at Spring Oscars, we've now supported our very first East Lothian candidate all the way from pre-employment course to job offer — proof this model works wherever you start from.

As Laura puts it, the constant support candidates get "from the classroom right through to those first months in the job" is what makes the real difference — to them, and to staff retention.

That's what Scottish Employability Day is all about: real people, real support, real outcomes.

We are proud to be featured in Business Scotland magazine, highlighting the long standing partnership between Spring Oscars and Direct Partners, a collaboration that has been helping shape and strengthen Edinburgh's childcare workforce since 2013.

With around two thirds of our workforce having come through this partnership, it's about so much more than recruitment. It's about creating opportunities, supporting people into rewarding careers and nurturing the next generation of passionate childcare professionals.

At Spring Oscars, we love giving the children the freedom to explore, create and experiment through loose parts play. From sticks, stones and boxes to tubes, fabric and everyday objects, there are no rules about what something has to be.

A box can become a spaceship, a stick can become a magic wand and a collection of loose parts can becomes absolutely anything a child imagines.
