🇮🇹 Italian Day 🍕
It was a big challenge for the Sodexo UK & Ireland team to prepare all the pizzas today, but the feedback from our pupils was clear - they wanted pizza on the menu! And we were determined to make it happen.
Judging by the smiles (and empty plates), we’d say we nailed it! 😄👏

✨ This Week is Children's Mental Health Week! ✨
The theme this year is "Know Yourself, Grow Yourself" —encouraging young people to explore who they are and how they can nurture their mental well-being.
This important initiative, launched by Place2Be, aims to give a voice to children and young people across the UK.

🎭 4ths Drama Performance: 'DNA'
A huge well done to our 4ths Drama students for their incredible performance of DNA by Dennis Kelly! 👏✨
The play, a gripping dark comedy, followed a group of teenagers who make a terrible mistake, then panic and cover it up. But when their secret brings them closer together, they face a tough question—should they set things right? 😲🎭
Our talented cast has been working tirelessly since August, and their hard work truly paid off with an unforgettable performance in The Magnusson Theatre. A massive thank you to everyone who came to support them! 💙
🎭 The Sound of Music 🎶
Two of our talented Senior School pupils, Emily B and Olivia M, organized a fantastic and funny musical performed by Geits & 2nds for parents, staff, and pupils! 🎭👏
This amazing performance was in support of the National Deaf Children's Society, helping to raise funds for a great cause 💙

Hard-fought battle, but it wasn’t our day. The boys gave it their all in the U18 Boys Scottish Cup semi-final against Strathallan School but we fell short with a 5-2 loss.

On Friday, New Field hosted the East S1 Tournament 🏆
A superb team of sports leaders ran a successful day 👏, with huge congratulations to MES on their Cup win and St Georges on their Plate win. The EA 2nds narrowly lost in the final.

Thirteen Edinburgh Academy swimmers competed in the SASA East Districts Age Group Championships representing their respective clubs at The Royal Commonwealth Pool last weekend. There were many successes with eight pupils making it through to the finals across seventeen events!

Andrew (2nds): Medalling in his four finals events:
1st 🥇 200m Backstroke
2nd 🥈200m Freestyle
2nd 🥈200m Butterfly
3rd 🥉50m Backstroke
Angus (3rds): Reaching four finals events and earning 2nd 🥈place in 200m Breaststroke. Also, picking up team Gold 🥇in the Freestyle Relay.
Jonny (P6): Reaching two finals and earning 1st place 🥇 in 50m Backstroke. Also, picking up team Gold 🥇 in the Medley Relay and Bronze🥉in the Freestyle Relay.
Kaelan (Geits): Picking up team Silver 🥈 in the Freestyle Relay and Bronze 🥉 in the Medley Relay.
Cameron (5ths): Reaching the 200m Breaststroke finals, but also picking up team Bronze 🥉in the Medley Relay.

A huge thank you to Dr. Natalie Kenny for visiting our Senior School pupils during this morning’s assembly.
Dr. Natalie Kenny is currently touring UK universities, colleges, and schools with her latest talk, ‘The Importance of Gender Representation in the UK’s £94 Billion Life Sciences Industry.’ As a passionate advocate for women in STEM, she firmly believes: “If you can’t see it, you can’t be it.” 👩🔬💡
With an impressive background in research—including roles at Pfizer, Johns Hopkins Medical School, St George’s School of Medicine in the Amazon Jungle, and more—Dr. Kenny holds a PhD in Translational Medicine, specialising in new therapeutics for Rheumatoid Arthritis and Childhood Leukaemia.

This exciting new project has not only highlighted the incredible events of the month but has also provided our Senior School pupils with invaluable hands-on experience in the world of digital media 💻
