Based in the heart of Scotland, every year we welcome students from across the UK and beyond to learn new skills in plumbing, plastering and tiling.  We also provide our students with the skills and support needed to launch and run their own business.

Hot Water (Unvented) Course - new date 🚰

We are running this 1 day course on Friday 8 December.  This course is suitable if:

you’re studying to become a plumber or heating & ventilating engineer
or
you are already working within these industries and need to update your knowledge

You'll learn about the legal requirements for plumbing systems in the UK covered by the Installation, commissioning and safety aspects of hot water systems for domestic use in accordance with UK Building Regulations. On completion you will be able to install plumbing systems or water fittings in line with UK Building Regulations.

We’re excited to announce that Shaun Cardwell from leading adhesive manufacturer N&C Nicobond will be joining us here at the school for a demonstration event open to ALL tilers.

Shaun’s demo will cover:

Large format tiling
Epoxy grout
Tiling onto timber floors
BSEN classification
Levelling compound
Wet rooms and tanking
Intro to new NHBC guidelines coming into force on 1st January 2024

Following the launch of our hugely popular Venetian Plastering courses this year, we’re delighted to announce the date for our next course 💪 Seeing a massive resurgence in popularity, Venetian Plastering is a specialist artisan technique resulting in beautiful finishes.
Our intensive 3-day course of classic Italian polished plasters is taught in collaboration with Whitson's Ltd and led by Rob Groom, a polished plaster specialist of 15 years. Cait Whitson herself is also available to offer technical advice and support. This course will cover everything you need to get yourself off the ground using polished and textured plaster.

You will leave the course understanding preparation, priming, how to apply classic Venetian Plasters and how to apply protection. You will be guided with personal attention through techniques that will broaden your skill base and give confidence to use most of the plasters that Whitson’s Ltd supply. Whilst previous trowel experience would be advantageous, this course is suitable for beginners and those who want to bring their previous tuition up to date.
