There is an excellent Intramural and Recreational Sport Programme and a Coaching & Volunteering Academy with a year long programme of events, seminars and opportunities to engage and develop as an athlete and as a person.

⭐️Blues and Colours Awards Shortlist – Cameron Blue of the Year ⭐️

Awarded for outstanding performance while at university, this year’s Cameron Blue finalists exemplify world-class excellence, international representation and record-breaking success!

Adam Hamill (Karate) 🥋
Adam has claimed U21 European Gold, a WKF Youth League title and rose to no. 3 in the U21 world rankings, while representing Scotland on the international stage. Domestically, he combined elite competition with his role as kumite captain, securing multiple BUCS golds in both individual and team kumite.

Brodie Gordon-Gibson (Swimming) 🏊
Brodie placed 5th in the 50m Butterfly A final at the 2025 Aquatics GB Championship and multiple 800+ FINA point performances across the 50m and 100m Butterfly. He has also shown outstanding consistency, placing 4th at the 2024 Summer Championship final and claiming BUCS 2026 Gold in the 50m Butterfly.

Isobel Clements (Rowing) 🚣‍♀️
Izzy has represented Ireland at the 2025 European Rowing Championships and World Rowing U23 Championships to cement her status among the country’s top emerging athletes. A key member of Edinburgh’s first women’s eight, she has helped secure major victories across recent seasons, including WEHORR, BUCS, and Henley Royal Regatta, while also being named the university’s Female Athlete of the Year for 2026.
