⭐️⭐️ WE ARE RECRUITING! ⭐️⭐️

Elevation Youth Dance Company are seeking dancers for both the junior (approx. age: 11-15 years) and senior (approx. age: 14+) companies, both based at Hills Road Sixth Form College.

⭐️ WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? ⭐️
Here at EYDC, we are looking for committed, creative and charismatic young people who have a passion for contemporary dance and all it has to offer. Determined and hard-working, you will attend all sessions on Monday evenings, and push yourself in class to become the best dancer you can be.

⭐️ HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? ⭐️
➡️ Junior Company is by enrolment only, no audition required. As part of enrolment, we will ask you to detail previous dance experience, and why you wish to join the company.

➡️ Senior Company is entry by audition. As well as what is mentioned above, the senior company will take on creative and performative tasks for our larger-scale projects, as well as setting an example to the junior company.

Another incredible Fringe performance of Anka’s Story this afternoon.

So many commented on the immense amount of talent on stage.

Our heartfelt thanks to Eva Clarke for, once again, coming to support us. Her narration added an extra level of emotion to the piece; some even coming to embrace Eva as they left, unable to speak for crying.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Only one more chance to catch Anka’s Story at the Fringe this year, on Sunday - and one more for Ctrl Alt Z tomorrow.

EYDC are performing ‘Anka’s Story’, a contemporary dance piece based on a true story of survival. Anka Bergman gave birth to her daughter, Eva, on the train to Mauthausen death camp in WWII. Amazingly, Eva will be AT OUR PERFORMANCE today to narrate her mother’s story! This is not an opportunity to be missed.

Even our mascot has a performers lanyard! First and not even a year old 🎭😍

It’s safe to say that our first performance of Anka’s Story was a huge success today; not a dry eye in the house!
