A unique reading concert exploring the intertwined lives of Ignatius Sancho and Muzio Clementi, where music and spoken word come together to illuminate themes of identity, resilience, and artistic legacy.

Featuring actor Edoardo Coen and pianist Andrea Coen, the performance brings to life Sancho’s powerful letters alongside Clementi’s expressive piano works in an evening of reflection and discovery.

Yesterday, 11th June, we opened the exhibition 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀. featuring 12 iconic and legendary Italian bicycles, with the special presence of 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗩𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮, gold medal in the team pursuit at the 1960 Rome Olympics, 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶, President of Museo del Ciclismo Ghisallo, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗮 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶, Director of the museum and 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 from Edinburgh Festival of Cycling.

It was emotional to see all the cyclists arrive at the Italian Institute on their bikes, admire these masterpieces of craftsmanship and history and learn more about legendary sporting achievements with our guests! Thank you all for coming and cycling with us, despite the classic Scottish rain! 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♀️🚴

✨ A wonderful conclusion to our 𝑰𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑪𝒍𝒖𝒃 journey with Paradiso!

After exploring the novel together over the past weeks, our students were delighted to meet author 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒊 and hear his insights into the book, its characters, and its themes.

On his visit to Edinburgh, Michele also launched the English translation of Paradiso by Richard Village from Foundry Editions at Topping & Company Booksellers of Edinburgh.

The documentary screening series 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 continues with 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗶 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 (2025).

The film tells the story of Stefano Gheller, the second person in Italy—and the first in the Veneto region—to have legally obtained the right to medically assisted su***de without having to leave his own country. A personal story that becomes universal, a clear-eyed and heartrending journey into the heart of the end-of-life debate. Stefano had made his decision long ago. But, unlike so many others, he chose not to flee to Switzerland. He stayed in Italy to fight a civil and human battle, pursuing—with dignity and irony—a profound, radical, and courageous demand for freedom.
