Severe weather warning: University closure on Friday 24 January A weather warning has been issued for Scotland ahead of Storm Éowyn. This includes a rare red alert for Scotland's central belt, including Edinburgh, from 10am - 5pm on Friday 24 January.
As our social channels go quiet for the holiday season, we want to wish everyone a joyful and restful festive break!
Reminder: The School and University will be closed across the 2024 festive period from 5pm on Monday 23 December 2024 and reopening at 9am on Friday 3 January 2025. Our School social media accounts will be live again from Monday 6th January.
Although many of our offices and buildings will be closed, core University services will operate throughout the holiday period.

This time we meet Biology Professor Richard Milne:
Richard is a senior lecturer at the School of Biological Sciences. He manages to balance his own creative interests with his teaching and research in plant biology. An extremely creative person; he has created a satirical comic series on social media and has also published a comedy thriller. His creative approach also influences the way he teaches, and as a three-time winner of a Teaching Award – it must be working! His aim is not only to teach but more importantly, to inspire.
