The long wait is over! Our Swedish Grade 5 students finally got to meet the real St Kilda Archeologist! After a virtual excavation of our St Kilda map, the students had lots of questions about the artefacts they found. This photo is the moment Craig showed us how the whetstone the students dug up would have been used to sharpen swords and spears! We were absolutely delighted and the students were utterly enthralled!

We’ve been working with Grade 5 students in Sweden this morning on a virtual archeology dig using ! The students were excavating our Minecraft St Kilda map, looking for evidence that vikings came to . So far, this is what they have found...do you think there is any evidence here of Vikings?

We were so excited to be working with Students in Sweden this morning on a very top secret project (coming soon!). Thanks to Wes L and to Jeff Sanders from ! and to Emma Nääs at Jonslundsskola - your students are incredible!

Fun fact! Our resources have had over 138,000 downloads! But why, we hear you ask! They are fun, they are free and they pack in the learning, as this article in Forbes Magazine says:
‘In the Pirate Cove lesson, students are incentivised to develop Creativity, Decision Making, Communication and Collaboration skills. The building and planning aspects of Minecraft also encourage visualisation and 3D Thinking. have been a little quieter than usual this year, as we adjusted to the global pandemic and all the changes that it brought. We decided that it was crucially important to put the well-being of our team at the very heart of our approach, and with that in mind, we took 2020 one small step at a time. However, rest assured, we have been working hard on some truly innovative projects that we will be bringing to you in 2021! We are super excited already!
