The College believes that public health policy should be shaped by evidence, not commercial interests. Yet industries linked to alcohol, to***co and junk food have long used a range of tactics to influence public debate, build credibility and shape policy discussions.

Today, as a member of NCD Alliance Scotland, we're supporting the launch of its Health Under Influence report, which shines a light on these tactics and their implications for public health and what policymakers can do to protect Scotland’s health.

Shape your learning at this year’s St Andrew’s Day Acute Medicine Symposium.

On Thursday afternoon, our parallel sessions give delegates a choice between two different areas of acute practice. Medical technology will explore the latest developments in diabetes technology with Dr Parizad Avari, followed by Dr Lewis Potter, founder of Geeky Medics, on apps and software supporting education, training and clinical practice.

Or join our Teamworking session, looking at leadership dynamics in high-pressure environments and the changing relationship between primary and acute care.

Join us in person or online on 26th and 27th November 2026. All delegates receive 28-day catch-up access to every talk, so you can also watch the parallel session you missed.
