Good luck to all our preschool children starting school today.

We are so proud of our Graduating Preschool Rainbows!
They have achieved so much at Little Learners Nursery Edinburgh!
All of us wish the Class of 2024 the best Primary 1 year ahead!

Today our Rainbow Room children released our butterflies into the wild. We watched with great interest as one by one we released them the children spoke about the colours they saw and where they may visit next. We hope they find a lovely spot to live.

The Rainbows are very pleased to see 3 of our 5 butterflies come out of their cocoons they worked so hard to spin! Our next step will be to let the butterflies go after they had their fresh fruit and sugar water.

This morning we took a group of rainbows to the local woods to explore and discover bugs and animals whilst we were there we also had some stories and our morning snack. We also raced up and down the hills with Jo which made us all laugh.

Happy Earth Day from the Rainbows and Little Learners! The preschool have been learning the difference between a globe and a map. They have been keen to discover using both the globe and map where families are from. We also have talked about how we can be Global citizens by taking steps to help the Earth by caring more for the environment. The children agreed that everyone must take care of our planet.
"We should not waiste our food."
"We put rubbish in the rubbish bin."
"We should not waist paper and recycle it."
"Animals should be taken care of."
"We turn off electric things if we don't need them."
"When we go to the beach we don't put rubbish into the water- it might make sea animals sick or choke."

The Rainbows have been helping to re-pot beautiful Spring flowers in our Nature Garden. The children were learning about Earth Sciences how plants grow or thrive. They were also learning about Mathematical language of amount in measurement of soil, colour of flowers and one to one comparisons of all items used. They were learning that plants need soil, water and sunshine to stay healthy.

Today the Rainbow Preschool children celebrated "World Book Day". They were able to dress up as their favourite character and bring or borrow their favourite books. Some children went to the local library to help pick out books for further learning about "the world and geographical locations". Our Preschool children love books. We have been reading books all day.
