Edinburgh Interdisciplinary Ukraine Conference 2026: Hybrid Warfare and Ukraine’s Resilience 🇺🇦

The Ukrainian Society of the University of Edinburgh is proud to announce a conference that will bring together scholars, students, and practitioners to explore Ukraine’s resilience in the context of hybrid warfare.

We look forward to welcoming members of the University community and beyond for an afternoon of rigorous, interdisciplinary discussion.

From information warfare and cyber operations to cultural resistance and civil society mobilisation, this event will examine how Ukraine continues to adapt, resist and endure.

This Tuesday, we come together to mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The day will have two parts:

After the rally, we’ll continue by supporting Ukraine through hands-on work together with Edinburgh Spiders.

Join us on February 14th for a Saturday evening in a warm and friendly atmosphere!

The event will be divided into two separate spaces to make sure everyone feels comfortable. In the first room, you can take part in our Blind Dating session, a fun opportunity to meet new people, have great conversations, and even win a prize.

We’ll also have a dedicated social space for anyone who prefers not to join the main activity - participation is completely optional.

We are pleased to announce that the Ukrainian Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on Saturday, 31 January at 3:00 PM at 40 George Square, Lecture Theatre B.

AGM Agenda:
The meeting will proceed as follows:

Voting on Amendments to the Constitution
Please find the proposed constitution available in our bio. We encourage all members to review this document in advance.
The proposed amendments introduce detailed descriptions of new committee roles, provide a clearer and more structured election procedure, and establish the possibility of appointing special representatives for engagement with external organisations.

Executive Committee Elections
Elections will be held for the following positions:
President
Secretary
Treasurer

Additional Committee Positions
Subject to the decision of the elected executive office bearers, the following roles may also be available:
Project Manager
Social Media Manager
Head of Graphic Design
Public Relations Manager

Additionally, if the proposed constitutional amendments are approved, elections may also be held for:
Vice-President
Cultural Manager
Operations Manager

All full role descriptions can be found in Articles 4.2–4.13 of the constitution, which is available in the bio
Please ensure you review Article 5.3, which outlines the election process, ahead of the AGM.

Your participation is very important to the future of the society, and we highly encourage all members to attend, vote, and consider running for a position.

Despite the many events we hosted together in 2025, we managed to raise a significant amount for charitable support for Ukraine.
