Days of practice and a whole lot of heart—and it all led to this!
Congratulations to Adi for participating in the International Helen HopeKirk Competition last week. He won the award for Best Performance of a Jazz Piece, and honestly, he absolutely blew me away! 🎶✨
Adi, teaching you is such a privilege, and watching you performing on the stage of St Cuthbert’s is the absolute best feeling. So incredibly well-deserved! 🏆❤️

Checking out the Liszt Memorial Museum today! Standing next to Liszt’s actual Bösendorfer piano is a pretty surreal experience for any music lover.
Did you know?
Franz Liszt was the "rockstar" of the 1800s, but he had a habit of destroying pianos because he played with such massive intensity. Bösendorfer instruments were sturdy enough to survive his performances without the strings snapping!
It’s amazing to see the craftsmanship that could handle that kind of power.

Proud Teacher & Mum Moment! 🎹❤️🌟
So proud of my son and student, Andre for his success at the Edinburgh Music Competition Festival.
After being Highly Commended in the Chopin Open Class, Andre was invited to perform his piano solo in the Highlights 2026 final concert at St Cuthbert’s Church.
It was a fantastic experience for him with the Lord Provost in attendance. Seeing all his hard work and artistry on that stage was wonderful. Well done, Andre! 👏✨

After age 40, our brains lose about five percent of their volume per decade—affecting our problem-solving abilities and memory. But we might be able to slow this process. Experts say that learning a new skill, like playing a musical instrument, acts as a "full-brain workout" and strengthens our neural pathways, making our brains more resilient: https://on.natgeo.com/4mp2ohW
