This Saturday - panel discussion on the growth of Gaelic education in Edinburgh

Our Edinburgh 900 series 'Gaelic in Edinburgh: past, present and future' resumes on Saturday 31 May 2025 at 1400 at the National Library of Scotland, George IV Bridge, with a special in-conversation event as we bring together current and former Gaelic teachers in Edinburgh to reflect on their experiences and offer their thoughts about the future development of Gaelic education.

With Donna MacIver (James Gillespie’s High School), Karen Reid (Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce) and Mona Wilson (Moray House, University of Edinburgh), chaired by Professor Matthew MacIver

“Ar Fàrdach” is an opportunity for students who would like to live with other Gaelic-speaking students at UoE.

Who? Open to students of all years at UoE who are fluent in the language or would like to speak Gaelic all the time in the flat.

Where? Fraser Court on Dalkeith Road, self-catered accommodation 18 minutes from main campus.
