The Wilberforce Academy 2026 is underway, a full week of bold biblical training that equips young adults to live faithfully for Jesus in every sphere of society. Following Jesus is the best thing in the world, and this week asks a vital question..Are you prepared to stand for Him in a culture that has rejected His ways?

The Wilberforce Collective brings young adults together to see society transformed by Jesus in courageous, biblical and beautiful ways. Their annual Academy is the launchpad, a one week residential that inspires and equips young believers for a lifetime of faithful action.

What makes this week so powerful..
Biblical vision for culture, seeing society through the lens of Scripture
Inspiring testimonies that strengthen faith
Penetrating analysis of ideologies shaping today’s world
Clear biblical teaching on contemporary issues like sexuality. and gender
Practical tools to communicate truth and bring hope
Wisdom from leaders who have gone before us
A network of Christians collaborating to bring Jesus to the heart of society
A community that emboldens young adults to live as ambassadors for Christ.

This is one of the most important weeks a young adult can experience. If your children are finishing school or home education and longing for strong biblical formation, this is worth exploring. Find out more here - https://www.wilberforcecollective.org/academy

We are grateful that our founder Niel is part of the Wilberforce team and encouraged to see the difference being made for education at the Academy as well.

A generation is being prepared. A culture is being challenged. Jesus is being lifted high.

Unite for Education Livestream - “The Power of Education and What It Means for Us Today” 24 September • 8pm • Live on YouTube & Facebook

Education shapes identity, worldview, courage, and the future of a nation. It influences every home, every community, and every generation. And right now, more than ever, we must ask the question: What are children being taught and what does it mean for their future and ours?

On 24 September at 8pm, join us live with Pastor Paul Richardson for a conversation that speaks directly into the heart of Scotland’s cultural moment. This livestream is for all who sense the urgency of this hour. For those who refuse to sit back while culture shapes children and for those who believe that kids should be allowed to be kids, and that education should strengthen, not confuse their identity, faith, and future.

Why This Conversation Matters?
Because what children learn today becomes who they are tomorrow
Because childhood is being reshaped faster than parents can keep up
Because confusion is being normalised, and innocence is being redefine
Because the Church must not be silent where truth is being contested
Because education is one of the most powerful tools for change for good or for harm

Let’s contend for the hearts and futures of our children.

About Pastor Paul Richardson -
Paul, his wife Angela, their sons, and a team of friends moved from Atlanta, Georgia to plant Take Hold Church in Edinburgh in 2023, a church committed to proclaiming the Gospel and raising disciples who follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Paul previously served for over two decades at West Ridge Church (Dallas, GA), leading in Kids’ Ministry, Groups, Outreach, Leadership Development, and teaching.
He is also the Co‑Founder of Engage Burkina, a mission transforming communities in Burkina Faso through clean water, education, development, and the Gospel impacting thousands of lives across West Africa.

Paul carries a deep passion for discipleship, truth, and raising a generation who know Jesus and walk in His ways.

Do tune in.

Education Scotland is leading a systematic review of the Scottish curriculum called the Curriculum Improvement Cycle.

This autumn they plan to share the draft Curriculum Framework, which has been co-designed with practitioners and partners across the country. They would like to hear from those who have not been involved so far and could provide them with some early feedback, this is a good opportunity for you to get involved and have your say. You can influence this change for the good.

The draft framework is part of the broader Curriculum Improvement Cycle (CIC), leading up to formal introduction in schools from August 2028.

Please complete their form to register your interest in contributing by next Friday the 11th September

Unite for Education was in Bridgeton today for the National Schools Work Networking Consultation, a gathering of organisations passionate about reaching and shaping the next generation. Around 30 groups were represented, each bringing insight, experience, and a shared desire to see education strengthened across Scotland.

Throughout the day we explored vital questions that matter deeply to the future of Education:

Effective approaches, Spiritual curiosity, Barriers, Least reached groups/areas, Missed opportunities, Partnership potential and much more.

We also shared a time of prayer together.
It was encouraging to connect and reconnect with those we are already working alongside. Moments like these remind us that we are not alone in this mission, even when it’s so full on and feels like you are standing alone.

We have a lot of work to do. Scotland needs to see the Church awake, arise, and stand together. Real unity is not optional, it is essential. Because together, we can make a difference. Together, we can reach more young people. Together, we can build an education landscape filled with hope, truth, and opportunity.

We can’t hide anymore.
We can’t stay silent.
We can’t let culture define the children, our families, or our future.

We are called to stand up, speak up, and build together and build better.

This clip from our livestream with our founder Niel Deepnarain and Pastor Grant Mullen is a reminder that we do not need to fear.
We are not powerless.
We are not alone.
We are not without hope.

We stand because we long to see:
Children thriving, not lost
Education strengthened, not weakened
A nation anchored, not drifting
Hope rising, not fading

With everything happening around us, this is the moment to stand together. We cannot watch children be led down paths that destroy them. We cannot surrender truth to confusion. We cannot let this world disciple children.

We are called to unite in truth, to build what lasts, and to make a difference that
echoes into the next generation.

Let this clip stir courage in you.
Let it remind you why we stand.
Let it awaken conviction, clarity, and hope.

Across the UK, even major outlets like the BBC are now acknowledging a shift many people including those who identify as LGBT are distancing themselves from Pride as it becomes more associated with adult themes, kink, and content not suitable for children. The pressure to “just support it” is fading.

And Christians have been raising these concerns for years. One example is Keith Waters, a pastor who also worked at a school. He reminded believers that Pride events often promote activities contrary to Christian teaching and can be harmful for children. Keith faced severe backlash, even a death threat and lost his job.

But thanks to the Christian Legal Centre, the Employment Tribunal ruled that the school discriminated against him. Today, Keith’s stance is being vindicated as more people question what Pride has become.

But here in Scotland, the deeper issue is this:
These same activist groups have shaped parts of our national curriculum.
Some LGBT organisations were invited into the National Working Group that recommended changes to Scottish Ministers.
The Scottish Government funded certain groups to create official training and classroom resources, and teachers across Scotland are expected to complete this professional development.

Yet Christian educators, churches, and family centred organisations were not invited to the table.

This is why Unite for Education exists to stand for safeguarding, truth, and hope in Education for Scotland. To challenge harmful cultural pressures. To ensure children are protected. To bring Christian voices back into the conversation about education.

Scotland, we must stand together. Silence is not an option. The next generation cannot be lost.

We need your support, your prayers, your voice, your partnership as we work for change in Scotland’s education system.

Unite for Education is here to make that difference. Join us. Stand with us. Speak hope into this culture and the next generation.
