Hi,
I am hoping that at least one of you would like to learn some Arabic, this being the language of Palestine. For the next few years, it will be more important than ever to speak the language of the oppressed and here is a way to do it that will help Gazans too.
I learnt some Arabic forty years ago in Arab Africa and it has proven an enormous advantage in travelling - and dealing with Palestinians in the UK. After all, it is spoken by around 422 million people, making it one of the five most-spoken languages in the world. Everywhere from Morocco to Oman you will find Muslims and others who will approach you in a far more positive way if you communicate with them in their native tongue.
So now, we at the Edina-Gaza Twinning Association are offering to set you up to learn Arabic.
