Upholstery - Our Upholstery students have created some beautiful pieces of work during the last term. The students have really enjoyed this course with our very experienced tutor Richard.

Beaded Jewellery Making - one of our recent courses focused on making Beaded Jewellery using upcycled beads or jewellery that participants already had, that needed a new lease of life. French for ongoing beginners - Monday evenings at Leith Academy in a friendly class.

Learning French as a beginner is really useful because it can make travel more fun (across five continents), and it can give an access to a rich culture. Ongoing study helps you master essential communication for travel, dining, and daily life, while building confidence in speaking, listening, and understanding French culture. Crochet for beginners - Our students from the beginners Crochet course at Carrickvale community centre are very proud to share their work. They all had a great time learning new skills and hopefully putting it to good use on new projects at home. 🧶🪡

This course is designed for those who already understand basic pattern drafting and sewing but want to bridge the gap between creative design and technical ex*****on.

You will learn to move away from a template and how to create your own patterns. The focus is on designing a perfect fit, with clever seams and darts. You will gain confidence and greater technical understanding, enabling you to ‘break the rules’ creatively in order to make your own specialised garments – all in a fun, friendly class with a very experienced tutor. 🪡🧵

Last chance for enrolments - With the weather starting to look better, how about spending some time getting to know Edinburgh and all its rich history. Virtual Historical Walks in Edinburgh will comprise varied topics suited to study by means of self-guided walks. You will be invited to do the walk at any time to suit themselves within the following week and the next session will begin with a review of the walk. The course will be led by Graeme Cruikshank.
