Bess - Homemade English's Diva!
Jen, Lorenzo and Bess all met in the same week, a year and a half ago. It took them time to understand each other and learn to share spaces, but now they are really happy together!
Bess has become the natural mascotte for Homemade English and happily lends her beautiful eyes to the promotional posts and videos that Lorenzo and Jen make.
Her favourite past times? Running around in the park with her dog friends, and chasing squirrels and crows!
Do you have a pet? Bess would like to know about them, I'll make sure I tell her about them! 😉

Bess - la Diva della Homemade English!
Jen, Lorenzo e Bess si sono incontrati nella stessa settimana, circa un anno e mezzo fa. Gli ci è voluto un po' di tempo per conoscersi ed imparare a condividere gli spazi, ma ora sono molto felici di vivere insieme!
Bess è diventata chiaramente la mascotte della Homemade English e mette a disposizione i suoi occhioni per i post e i video che Lorenzo e Jen fanno.
I suoi passatempo sono correre nel parco con i suoi amici pelosi e rincorrere scoiattoli e corvi!
Hai un amico a quattro zampe? A Bess farebbe piacere sapere le loro storie, gliele racconto io! 😉

Jen moved to Edinburgh in 2005, where she was supposed to stay for just a month. 17 years later, she has made Edinburgh her home, where she works for the Scottish Government. In her spare time, she helps to create content for Homemade English; otherwise you can find her roaming the hills with Bess. She has also recently started learning Italian with Lorenzo.

Jen si è trasferita ad Edimburgo nel 2005, dove aveva intenzione di restare per solo un mese. 17 anni dopo, ha fatto di Edimburgo la sua casa, e qui lavora per il Governo Scozzese. Lorenzo - Mr Homemade English, insegnante e direttore didattico.

Mi sono avvicinato all'inglese tardi, ero praticamente già all'università. Per questo ho dovuto creare strategie di apprendimento su misura per me.
Lavoro come insegnante da quasi vent'anni: ho iniziato come insegnante di italiano in università in Galles, e poi come insegnante di inglese come lingua straniera in diverse scuole nel Regno Unito e in Italia. Ho creato la Homemade English per dare la possibilità a tutti di imparare l'inglese secondo esigenze personali e non in base al 'programma scolastico'.
Vivo ad Edimburgo e qui, oltre ad insegnare, lavoro come cuoco, studio linguaggio dei segni e sto per ottenere una laurea in musica, che andrà ad aggiungersi alle mie due lauree e tre master in lingua, traduzione ed insegnamento: con la conoscenza di un madrelingua, condividerò con te le strategie linguistiche che mi hanno portato a questo livello, in un contesto rilassato e su misura.

Lorenzo - Mr Homemade English, teacher and director of studies.

I approached English late in life, I was already studying at university. That's why I had to come up with learning strategies tailored for myself.
I have been working as a teacher for almost 20 years: I started teaching Italian at university in Wales, and then I taught English as a foreign language in several schools in the UK and Italy.
I have created Homemade English to give everybody the chance to improve their skills according to their personal needs, not the 'school curriculum'.
I live in Edinburgh and aside from teaching I work as a chef, study BSL and am about to obtain a BA in Music, which will join my other two BAs and three MAs in languages, translation and teaching: with the knowledge of a native speaker, I will share with you the linguistic strategies that brought me to this level, in a relaxed and tailored context.
