I would like to thank you for your support and thanks to those who have joined me in many fitness and yoga classes this year and yoga events. It has been an absolute pleasure and I loved all my classes and yoga events this year.
I will be taking some time off over Christmas and New Year. I am really looking forward to lots of time to relax and rest. It has been a busy and overwhelming year and the last few months recently so I definitely need the time away to rest, restore and some time to breathe, I think.
Out Office is going on. I will be off from today until Thursday 4th Jan 2024 so things will go a bit quiet on social media from me from today.
So I will wish you a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year for when it comes. I hope your time is filled with whatever you need.

Our one day fitness retreats in East Lothian return yaaaayyyyy 💫
We’ve been on the hunt for a new location the last coupla months and have found the perfect new base for our fitness retreats! We’ll be using the surf centre at Belhaven beach as our retreat base which has plenty of parking & access to toilets and showers. The studio is mainly used as a back up in case the weather is truly horrendous, otherwise we aim to spend most of the day outside!
This one day fitness retreat is jam packed with exploring the woodland trails around the beach, coffee breaks in the sand dunes, workouts on the beach,healthy packed lunch’s & a cold water swim to top it all off!
Each guest also goes home with a special, wellness goodie bag ✨
Price is £80pp or 2 tickets for £140.

My gift to you, on this glorious international women’s day, is yet more unsolicited advice.
We already know that muscle is the elixir of youth, making resistance training a no brainer. It’s also true that heart disease is the NO.1 killer of women, thus aerobic training is also essential. As it’s evident that most women are time poor, might there be an efficient way in which we can build both a stronger body AND keep our heart and lungs healthy????
Step forward RUCKING.
Rucking is the act of going for a bracing stroll whilst carrying a heavy rucksack. It trumps walking unloaded, because it...
- works our muscles more intensely, particularly those in the legs, glutes, core and back.
- requires more work from the heart and lungs.
- burns more calories and has a greater training effect than walking without weight for the same amount of time.
But, wouldn’t running be a better use of time???
Although the extra weight, does put stress through our joints, it is still less than we experience when we run. This means rucking presents less risk of knee, hip or ankle injuries.
That's not all. Here are some other benefits worth noting…..
- it gets you outside. This lowers stress, improves feelings of well being and presents more of a cognitive workout than running on a treadmill or lifting weights in the gym.
- it can be social.
- it’s cheap. You only need a sturdy back pack (one with a weight belt is ideal) and something heavy to put in it (an encyclopaedia or a couple of filled water bottles)
- it can be scaled to suit all fitness levels, ages and abilities.
In the interests of science, I stuck a 10kg weight in my rucksack and romped up Blackford Hill this afternoon. My rigorous findings are, that it was tough on the hilly bits, fine on the downhill bits, the slippy bits were best avoided, but it was glorious at the top.
Why not give it a try??
Start with a load of around 10% of your body weight, stick to the flat initially, and only walk for around 30-40 minutes. Once that feels easy, up the challenge by adding load, increasing the distance or tackling some hills. And, for best results, take another international women with you for a blether.

Hey! I have been taking some time off, so I have been quiet here recently.
I hope you are all well :) So it's Jan and a new year , welcome to 2023.
Just a wee note: However you are feeling at this time of year it is okay. Be curious, be kind to yourself, and know everyone can feel different at this time. Embrace and acknowledge how things are for you and be okay with that and then decide what you want to do , if you need to do, if anything.
Also I just want to say that if setting any resolutions or goals at this time- if this is right for you- I like to remember that goals and intentions are not only about stopping something. Goals and intentions shouldn't necessarily be about punishing yourself or thinking you have done something not good. How about coming from a more positive angle, - think about what you do that you would like to continue to do, anything you would like to do more of, things you need and would be good for you and your life, perhaps things that will make you feel good , energise and make you feel proud of yourself. Always remember your goals are not you. You are enough as you are.
And if you do anything, maybe just simply, Be Kind. 💜💙❤
