Welcome back to all of the teaching teams who returned to class this week!

We have a busy few weeks lined up in LAB22 with young people from Broughton, Gracemount and Gilmerton primary schools joining us to explore electricity and forces.

Our sessions are supported by the team from PE Ltd and today we would like to introduce you to Laura.

We asked Laura why she chose to volunteer here in LAB22.

‘Children are the future of science, being able to inspire and support kids in education is something I’m really passionate about. It’s a joy to see them enjoy learning and having fun in this environment’

On Friday afternoon we were delighted to welcome members of the Edinburgh teaching community into .

The event gave teachers the ability to hear more from our founder Sabrina regarding the aims and objectives of LAB22 and her passion for removing barriers in access to STEM education.

Currently we offer a fully funded physics based progressive curriculum for P4-7 carefully curated inline with the Curriculum for Excellence.

The LAB22 team were also joined by industry experts from Petroleum Experts who will be kindly donating their time and expertise to support the young people coming through LAB22.

Exploring and discussing the impact of gravity, air resistance and friction through the creation of their own cool catapult…

Who will complete the mission and work out how to fire animal poo at the poachers? 🐮

Mission Complete!

On Monday we welcomed our first young engineers into for our inaugural holiday workshop!

The top secret mission was accepted as we explored electric art in the creation of their very own Potterbot working with the engaging

It’s safe to say this team had a great morning and we can’t wait to do it all again next week.

Delighted to officially launch The LAB22 this morning at the Petroleum Experts User Group Meeting.

The LAB22 will be Scotland's first bespoke children's science school located in Edinburgh.

LAB22 will bring science to young children in an intuitive manner, to encourage questioning minds and problem solving. The progressive curriculum will ensure that no child is left behind through the provision of a fully funded school science program
