Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a yummy afternoon tea.🍰☕️

We are currently working on the improvement of our loose parts room and are looking for the following items: bottle lids, corks, unwanted china (e.g. plates and mugs), and other items of a similar nature.

Our garden has been undergoing a makeover & we have recently introduced our new construction area! The children have had lots of fun making use of this today.

Why did you pursue a career in the early years sector? -

I find it rewarding seeing the children flourish into their development becoming independent and reaching their milestones.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? -

Seeing the little ones happy. ☺️

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? -

Date nights with my partner and spending time with friends and family.

What was your dream job as a child? -

I wanted to be a forensic scientist. 👩🏻‍🔬

Hazel has been working with us for a number of years & is our nursery manager!

Why did you pursue a career in the early years sector? -

While supporting a child minder during my school years it led me down the path of college in the early years sector, never looked back after working with the children under 5 years old.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? -

Love how we have such an impact on the lives of so many little people, children have an unconditional bond and I really enjoy watching them grow and develop their own personalities. My favourite thing is getting to know all of our families really well and becoming a part of their journey in life.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? -

Spending time with my own family, my husband, Keith and 6 year old, Jack. Walking and baking.

What was your dream job as a child? -

Firefighter or a chef! 👩🏻‍🚒👩🏻‍🍳

Tell us a fact we might not know about you? -

I once did a sky dive & bungee jump for charity.

Why did you pursue a career in the early years sector? -

Because it’s interesting watching children grow into their own individual person it’s also a very caring job and I’d say I’m a very caring person.

What’s your favourite thing about your job? -

Taking part in making children happy!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? -

Spending time with my family.

What was your dream job as a child? -

I wanted to be in a girl band! 🎤

I have a twin sister, her name is Skye.

Why did you pursue a career in early years? -

I love working with children and I’m very passionate about learning!

What’s your favourite thing about your job? -

I love to watch the children grow and develop into their own little people! My favourite part of the nursery day is probably singing songs at circle time, the children are all so full of energy and it’s so much fun!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? -

I love spending time with my family and friends, going to the theatre and going to new places.

What was your dream job as a child? -

I think I either wanted to be an actress, a teacher or to work with animals. 🦁

Tell us a fact we might not know about you? -

I’m currently studying an English degree at Edinburgh Napier University and I’m hoping to get into teaching once I’ve completed it!

Kirsten has been with us for 8.5 years, and throughout that time, has worked as a supervisor in both the Tweenie Room and the Toddler Room.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in the early years sector? - After spending some time working in an after school club, it became clear that working children was the right path for me!

What’s your favourite thing about your job? - Getting to know the children & their families and creating bonds with them.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? - Holidays, weekends away and spending time with friends & family.

What was your dream job as a child? - Cabin crew ✈️

Tell us a fact we might not know about you? - I used to be a hairdresser 💇🏼‍♀️

Why did you pursue a career in the early years sector? -

I absolutely love children & helping them grow and flourish!

What’s your favourite thing about your job? -

Spending time with the kids, doing fun activities & helping them to reach their milestones.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? -

Spending time with my son, reading, watching TV & listening to music.

What was your dream job as a child? -

A doctor 👩🏼‍⚕️
