📆 Starting 1st October - 10am - 12:30pm

If you’ve always wanted to learn to sew properly, this is the course.

Not a rushed one-day taster. Not a YouTube rabbit hole. Not a class where you copy someone else’s project without really understanding what you’re doing.

This is a carefully structured six-week programme that takes you from complete beginner to confident sewist, one skill at a time.

You’ll leave knowing how to sew, why things work, and – most importantly – with the confidence to keep sewing long after the course has finished.

Modern industrial sewing machines can stitch up to 5000 stitches per minute. Try beating that by hand! đŸ§”âšĄ

Next time your machine's whirring away, remember - you're using tech that's been refined over literal centuries of human ingenuity.

Do you know how many stitches you can do per minute by hand? And how does that compare to your machine?

Long before machines, humans were already master sewists. The very first needles were carved from bone or animal horn, with thread made from animal sinew - and people have been sewing by hand for roughly 20,000 years. đŸ§”

Every time you thread a needle, you're taking part in one of humanity's oldest continuous crafts. What's the oldest sewing technique you still use today?

Why More Sewists Should Know About JUKI

Lots of people know Janome, Brother and Singer... but far fewer realise JUKI have dominated industrial sewing for over 70 years. Their machines run in factories all over the world — from small ateliers to large‐scale production lines like this — because they’re powerful, precise and built to last.

And that industrial engineering is exactly why I now have three JUKI machines:

My JUKI MO‐644D overlocker — loved by everyone who uses it. It’s neat, incredibly powerful, and the stitch quality is beautiful.

My JUKI coverstitch — one of the few coverstitch machines I’ve used that doesn’t suffer from the usual skipped‐stitch drama you get with other brands.

My JUKI HZL‐DX7 sewing machine — packed with industrial features you simply don’t find on most domestic machines. Smooth, consistent, reliable.

JUKI may not be the “populist” name on the high street, but in terms of quality and value, they’re kicking everything else out of the park. They’re the quiet experts — and it’s time more home sewists knew their name.

Have you heard of Juki before?
