We had a wonderful Earth Day 2026 celebrating the wonder that is the elder tree at the ECCAN Spring Assembly. Folklore, science and art combined with respectful foraging inspired our group to create, make and share knowledge!

It's that time of year! It was a delight to work with our groups in the sunshine, observing and foraging the signs of spring. The children were thrilled by the results when they pressed ink-stained leaves onto paper, capturing the wild geometry of the woods. There were beautiful moments of discovery and lots of learning, as we experimented with different leaf types to create our art 🌱

🌱 Bingham Art Path 🌱

Our Bingham Art Path Interns Brogan and Taghreed spent an inspiring day with , at the . After a tour of the fantastic construction workshops, they spent time in Littlewhitehead’s studio where the intern’s drawing designs were being transformed by an automated mould cutting machine. These moulds will be used to create the external texture of the artwork. The young people also explored colour mixing, creating test pieces to guide the final colour selection 🌱

Spring had sprung at Art Buds!
In our recent .edinburgh class lead by the young artists created colourful frames, taking them on a wonder-wander exploring signs of life in the gardens. Inspired by their findings they crafted beautiful artwork to fill the frames 🌱

We had a fun and focused day with KMG at Starpic Project in Bingham, training our new team of Niddrie Bingham Tunnel volunteers. We enjoyed exploring risk assessment, health and safety, spray painting at the tunnel, and shared a healthy lunch, with plenty of good chat! Three local residents from Bingham, Niddrie and The Christians will head up a new volunteer group which will deliver running repairs, clean ups and any new creative developments. Ongoing support and advice from Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. Thanks to everyone who has supported this fantastic community project 🌱

Through the lens of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, our young performers at the Montessori Elementary School have been diving deep into the shadows of character development and set design! By exploring scenes from this dark tale, the children have sharpened their vocal projection, emotional literacy, and collaborative storytelling. These creative friends chose to develop a puppet performance in which the eerie chants of the three witches are stealing the show 🌱

Following our spray painting workshops we are looking to bring a team of locals together to maintain the mural! Whether you joined our previous workshops or not please get in touch if you are interested!
