Together with Birmingham & Midland Marine Services Ltd, we offer RYA Inland Waterways Helmsman, RYA Powerboat Schemes and RYA First Aid courses. RYA Inland Waterways Helmsman courses take place on the Staffs & Worcester Canal out of Gailey Wharf, Staffs. Courses can be booked closed, or students can choose to join an open course. "in a remarkable day for veteran athletes, former Parachute Regiment soldier Jaco van Gass claimed Britain's first gold medal in the velodrome at the Paralympic Games in Paris, triumphing in the Men's C3 3000m Pursuit."
Jaco is a South African who joined the British Army aged 20. He suffered severe and disabling injuries during a tour of Afghanistan in 2007, and has since excelled as both a mountaineer and a cyclist, winning multiple Olympic medals for the British Paralympian team. He was also awarded an MBE for services to cycling! What a man!
