The Earth Kids Thursday class celebrated finishing the marathon together as a class.

Child Participants Wanted – University of Edinburgh

We are looking for 5–8-year-old English monolingual children to take part in a study on how language experiences shape social and cognitive development.

What's involved?
Children will complete fun language and cognitive tasks with a researcher at the University of Edinburgh. The session lasts about 90 minutes, and parents can stay with their child throughout. Parents can also ask for task results after the test.

What's in it for you?
Families will receive £20 – but please note, this will be paid after all questionnaires and tasks are fully completed.

Who can take part?
Children who are English monolinguals (English is their first and primary language).

2026 Year of the Horse – Celebrating Culture, Joy, and Growing Together

Our Chinese New Year celebration at Earth Kids was filled with laughter, creativity, and meaningful moments. Through music, movement, and shared traditions, children experienced the joy of learning across cultures—while building confidence, curiosity, and connection.

At Earth Kids, we are passionate about nurturing the whole child through arts, sports, and cultural education in a warm, supportive community. As we step into the Year of the Horse, we send our heartfelt wishes for happiness, health, and prosperity to families everywhere.

This Sunday from 11am, we’re in Edinburgh.

It’s the Year of the Horse. Back home, this is when families come together. Here, we’re doing the same — just with a bit less chaos and more tea.

Come put up spring couplets, cut paper cuttings, and try some nian gao and spring rolls straight from the pan. We’ll explain why red is lucky and what goes inside those red envelopes. Nothing formal, nothing fancy — just small things we did as kids and now do with our own children.

If you’re curious about Chinese New Year, or just free on a Sunday morning, you’re very welcome. Tea’s hot, door’s open.
