📚KS2/Second Level We have taught over 500 lessons providing the very best in Primary School tuition in Edinburgh. We offer tuition in all Primary Curriculum areas covering Early/First/Second Level within the Curriculum for Excellence in Scotland and EYFS/KS1/KS2 within the National Curriculum in England. The most requested lesson areas are Primary English, Primary Maths and Primary Science. We are based in Edinburgh but cover the whole of the UK as well as teaching the Scottish and England curricula content internationally through the LS Tuition Online Virtual Classroom.

Each week at the end of their lessons, our students take on hands-on challenges designed to stretch their problem-solving and critical thinking skills across subjects like Maths, Science, STEM, Geography, and Philosophy.

Problem-solving and critical thinking are skills children will use far beyond the classroom. By learning to explore ideas, ask questions, consider different approaches and work through challenges, children become more confident and independent learners. These skills encourage curiosity and resilience, helping children understand that getting stuck is part of learning, and that there is often more than one way to find a solution.

A little moment we’re very proud of at LS Tuition 💙

Following the launch of our Accessing Excellence Studio, we were delighted to see our story picked up by a number of publications, helping us share the thinking behind this new part of LS Tuition with an even wider audience.

The Studio was created to offer something different: carefully designed small-group learning opportunities for children who may benefit from building specific skills, confidence and independence alongside others.

At the heart of it is an idea that means a lot to us – excellence isn’t something children need to achieve; it’s something they already have. Sometimes, they simply need the right environment and support to access it.

Seeing that message shared beyond our own LS Tuition community has been incredibly exciting, and we’re looking forward to seeing the Accessing Excellence Studio continue to grow.

Preparing for an entrance assessment involves much more than revising content. Children also need opportunities to develop exam technique, become familiar with timed conditions and build confidence in their own abilities.

Our Mock Exam Workshops have been designed by experienced teachers to provide a realistic exam experience in a supportive environment. Alongside the opportunity to complete a mock assessment, families receive detailed feedback to help identify strengths and prioritise the areas that will have the greatest impact before the real exam.

For many children, sitting a mock exam helps transform the unfamiliar into something they feel prepared for and that confidence can make a significant difference on the day itself.

Being able to communicate clearly, listen carefully and share ideas confidently are skills that support children throughout their education and beyond.

Our Talking, Listening & Confidence Workshop has been designed to give children the opportunity to practise these important skills through engaging activities, discussion and collaboration.

In a small-group environment led by experienced teachers, children will be encouraged to express their ideas, listen to others and build confidence in their own communication.

Whether your child is naturally quiet, would like more opportunities to speak in front of others, or simply wants to develop their communication skills further, this workshop provides a supportive space to learn and grow.

Creative writing is about far more than producing an interesting story. It gives children the opportunity to develop the skills that underpin successful writing across the curriculum, from organising ideas and selecting vocabulary with purpose to considering their audience and refining their work.

Our six-week Creative Writing Workshops have been designed and led by experienced teachers to help children develop these skills in a supportive, small-group environment. Each session builds on the last, giving children the opportunity to explore different aspects of creative writing while receiving guidance and encouragement throughout the programme.

Whether your child already enjoys writing or would benefit from dedicated time to develop their confidence and written expression, these workshops provide an engaging space to learn, create and grow.

On Saturday, Natalie, our Marketing and Operations Manager, had the pleasure of volunteering for the morning at The Yard Edinburgh’s Summer Fair.

The Yard is an incredible charity providing adventure play, support and a welcoming community for children, young people and their families. Their Edinburgh centre creates a space where children can play, explore, build friendships and, most importantly, have fun - while offering invaluable support to the whole family.

At LS Tuition, we feel incredibly privileged to support the work of organisations making such a positive difference to children and families in our local community, in whatever small way we can.
