Caerphilly Tennis Club

A brilliant afternoon with the LGBT Caerphilly Youth Service Guys, Gals and Non-Binary Pals group at Virginia Park Youth Centre (Caerphilly South Youth Service) yesterday. The group smashed the bean bag team building games and enjoyed the ever popular battleships with Head Coach Jon, along with personalised pizzas and more! 🎾🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️😎🤝

We’ll be back for their next meet on Saturday 26th September, from 12noon to 3pm, offering more tennis fun alongside a range of other activities that they provide for the local LGBTQ+ community aged 11-25. 📅👋🔜

A very productive Volunteer Morning today at . We cleared last bit of overgrowth behind the clubhouse and large areas to the side of Court 4, as well as mowed about half the grass around the back courts. 🎾🙋🌱🛠🤩

In our last one of the summer next week, we plan to fully clear the corner by Court 3, linking it to the space cleared behind the parallel treeline. So if you’d like to lend a helping hand between 9:30am and 1:30pm, get in touch with Head Coach Jon or Committee Member Lee. 🗣️📨👍

A great session with our Leaders at last night. They began with some icebreakers, then practiced their feeding skills out on court, before making more progress with their tennis ball upcycling project as things are starting to take shape… 🎾👥🎯🌟📈

Another good Junior Tennis Camp at despite the overcast skies and “chilly” 18*C! 16 players had fun working on their serves before enjoying some of their favourite group and team games! 🎾☀️⛺️🧊🤣

Good effort from our Home Ed groups to brave the showers and an enjoyable Yellow Social this afternoon. Then a great Adult Coaching Camp at tonight as these 3 loved working on their attacking net play and using different analogies/ideas to make points stick. 👫🎾⛺️🫟👍

A fun filled Junior Tennis Camp at ! We kickstarted the day with an energetic warmup before some good backhand practice. Then classic games either side of lunch, plus extended free time this afternoon! 🎾☀️⛺️💫👊
