This year's wildfires of 2026 have been closely under observation! With a major incident being declared across South Wales we have begun to see the effects of climate change take effect!

Could the impacts have been minimised?

A decade of building Lunacare Cymru,

Caerphilly will always be part of my story. The lessons learned here will travel with me wherever I go. I leave with no hatred, no bitterness, and no regrets. Only gratitude for the experiences, the knowledge gained, and the people who supported the journey.

The mission remains the same.
To protect the environment. To seek technical knowledge. To build something lasting to preserve our world.

With all our hearts, we thank you for the last decade. The next rewilding chapter begins.

🌲 A Personal Message From Mikey Druid 🌲
"No more explanations, the message is sent and it's time to move on and heal"

Good morning, ladies and Gentlemen β˜€οΈ

I hope you're all keeping well. Firstly, I want to apologise to the many amazing people who have reached out over the past several months with messages of support, kindness and encouragement. My silence wasn't intentional. Truthfully, I needed time to recharge, ground myself and gather my thoughts before speaking about what has undoubtedly been one of the most difficult chapters of my life. The reason I share this story today is not for sympathy, attention or validation. I share it because it stands as a testament to the power of community, the importance of mental health, and the incredible strength that human beings can find when life pushes them to their limits.

The Silence
Over the past several months I have faced one of the greatest fears any parent could ever experience. For a moment in time, my entire world stopped. Everything became dark. Everything became uncertain. Hope, prayer and determination were all that remained.

My daughter became seriously ill.
What followed was a journey I would not wish upon any family. My little warrior was diagnosed with a dangerous brain tumour and had to undergo multiple operations, treatment and chemotherapy. There are no words powerful enough to describe the fear that comes from watching your child fight a battle that you cannot fight for them. As a parent, all you want to do is take that pain away.
You want to carry it yourself. You want to swap places. But you can't. All you can do is stand beside them, support them and hope.

The Bravest Person I Know
What amazed me more than anything throughout this journey was not the hospitals, the treatment or the medical procedures. It was her. At just nine years old, I watched my daughter face challenges that would break many adults.
Yet somehow she kept smiling. She kept fighting. Honestly speaking, she is far braver than I will ever be. Even now, while treatment continues, she carries a positivity and determination that inspires me every single day. There were times when I felt exhausted. Times when I felt completely broken. Yet somehow my little girl kept finding reasons to smile. Her courage became my fuel. Her determination became my motivation. And in many ways, this journey changed my entire outlook on life.

Lessons From Rock Bottom
During this same period, life presented many other challenges as well. There were days that felt overwhelming. Days that felt unfair. Days when it felt as though the weight of the entire world had landed on my shoulders all at once.
But something unexpected happened. For the first time in my life, I truly understood what rock bottom feels like. And when you reach rock bottom, you learn some important truths. You learn who genuinely cares. you learn who checks in when there is nothing to gain. You learn who stands beside you simply because they care about another human being. And ladies and gentlemen, I have been blessed. The amount of kindness, support and encouragement shown by people from all over the United Kingdom and across the world has genuinely humbled me. Messages arrived from complete strangers. People checked in. People listened. People offered support. People offered kindness.
In a world that can often feel divided and hostile, you reminded me that good people still exist. You reminded me that community still matters. You reminded me that none of us walk these roads alone.

Why I Keep Going
One of the biggest lessons I learned through all of this is that life has never been about money, fame or recognition. It never was. Everything I have ever done has been for my children. Every project. Every photograph. Every video. Everything.
My children have always been my reason why. And this journey only reinforced that belief. If there is one thing I hope my daughters take from all of this one day, it is that no matter how dark life becomes, you keep moving forward. Not because it is easy. Not because you are fearless. But because the people who stay during the fire are worth fighting for.

Thank You! πŸŒ²πŸ¦…
To everyone who has supported me throughout this chapter of life, thank you.
Truly. From the bottom of my heart. I can never fully express the gratitude I feel for so many of you. You may think that a message, a comment or a few kind words do not mean much. But sometimes those small acts of kindness arrive at exactly the moment somebody needs them most. I often joke that I am just a nature-loving, river-walking weirdo from South Wales, and honestly, that is probably true. But nature has taught me something important. After the darkest winters, spring always returns. After the storms, new growth begins. And sometimes the strongest trees are the ones that have weathered the harshest conditions. Today my daughter continues her journey And today I continue being grateful for every single person who helped us through this chapter.

Moving Forward
So here is to my amazing children. Here is to my brave little warrior.
And here is to every beautiful soul who chose kindness when they did not have to. Your support will never be forgotten. This crazy druid loves you all. Have a beautiful day everyone and keep rising always. πŸ¦…πŸŒ²β˜€οΈβ€οΈ
