Mae Ras 2K Caerffili, lle mae rhedwyr yn rhedeg o gwmpas y Castell godidog, yn dychwelyd fore Sul 9 Mai.



Bydd unigolion sy'n rasio'n cael eu hamseru ac yn derbyn medel a bag o wobrau bach ar ôl gorffen y ras. (Rhaid i blant fod yn 7 oed neu'n hŷn ar ddiwrnod y ras i gymryd rhan).



💚 Bydden ni wrth ein boddau pe bai rhedwyr o Ysgol Gymraeg Caerffili yn cymryd rhan eleni ac yn cynrychioli'r ysgol yn Ras 2K Bryn Meadows yng Nghaerffili.

The Caerphilly 2k is set to return on the morning of Sunday 9 May, against the backdrop of Caerphilly Castle.



2k entrants wll be chip timed and will receive a medal and goodie bag upon completing the run. (Entrants will be required to be aged 7 or over on the day of the event to participate.)

We're pleased to say that the Colour Run is set to go ahead tomorrow and have sold over 150 tickets!!!

** We are conscious that the weather forecast is continuing to change, and we want to ensure everyone's safety in these extreme heat conditions. We will be liaising with the school - please continue to check your emails for any updates, in case we do need to postpone / cancel the event. **

Hopefully we will be able to host our Summer Fayre and a colour run and lots of water will help to cool people down after such a hot week! Got Beef and Best Whippy Ice Cream will join us, along with a fully stocked Ffrindiaur Ysgol bar! (Alcohol and non alcoholic options available). We'll also have bubble wands, water pistols, flower garlands and sunglasses on sale!

this will be a cashless event
children will need sunglasses / goggles (to protect their eyes while running)
children of all ages will be running the colour run together - they can run as many times as they'd like (and adults can also join the little ones). We will be sharing reminders during the warm up about being mindful of the younger children and to be cautious not to push past people, while running)
bring old clothes (for the children and yourselves - if you're running you will get coloured!)
towel / change of clothes for afterwards
lots of suncream, water, picnic blankets, sun shades
**If you have any old paddling pools at home, please bring them with you - we will have a hose to fill them up!!! **

What's happening?
The Summer Fayre will start at 3.30, should families wish to join us straight from school
The Fire Brigade and Caerphilly Runners arriving approx 4.30pm.
Colour Run warm up will start at 4.45pm
The Summer Fayre will stay open as long as people wish to stay - we anticipate finishing around 6.30pm
Please note that these times are subject to change, and in the event of an emergency the Fire Brigade may not be able to attend.

Best Whippy Ice Cream will be attending, and Got Beef have stepped in at the last minute and will also be joining us! We are also looking forward to Caerphilly Runners supporting the run, and Caerphilly Fire Brigade are also hoping to be there!

We would like to give a huge thank you to all of the Volunteers in Ffrindiau'r Ysgol - we've had to scale this event right back, due to low Volunteer numbers in the team this year. However we are so grateful for all of the time the team have spent planning, and arranging our Summer Fayre... and most importantly coming to help set up and run the event! Without help on the day these kinds of events simply can't happen!

Our school is growing and we have over 400 pupils in Ysgol Gymraeg Caerffili - we really hope that next year more parents and family members will join Ffrindiau'r Ysgol. Depending on how much time you have to give, you could either join the main volunteer group (1 meeting a term), or support us in the Ffindiau'r Ysgol Lite group, helping to run events on the day.

Please see our email about the upcoming AGM (Thursday 16th July at 7.30pm in the Green Lady) and get in touch if you think you'd like to join the team or come along to find out more! The more support we have the more we can do for the children and our school.

Gyda newidiadau sylweddol yn digwydd o fewn tîm Ffrindiau'r Ysgol, mi fydd angen llawer mwy o help arnom ni oddi wrth rieni/aelodau teulu ein teuluoedd newydd os ydy Ffrindiau'r Ysgol yn mynd i barhau y flwyddyn nesaf.

Ar hyn o bryd rydyn ni'n dîm o wirfoddolwyr hynod o fach, ac yn gobeithio cael mwy o gymorth o gymuned ehangach ein hysgol er mwyn cynnal digwyddiadau pwysig fel y Ffair Haf a gweithgareddau i'r plant.

Pe hoffech chi ddod i'r cyfarfod i ddysgu rhagor am y grwp a'r hyn rydyn ni'n ei wneud, anfonwch e-bost atom. Os na allwch chi ddod, ond mae diddordeb gyda chi i wybod mwy, byddwn ni wrth ein bodd yn clywed gennych.

There are a number of changes in Ffrindiau’r Ysgol team which means that we will need more help, from new parents / family members if Ffrindiau’r Ysgol is to continue next year.

We are currently a very small group of Volunteers and hope to have more support from the wider school community, to allow us to continue to run the School Fayres and special activities for the children.

If you can come to the meeting, to find out more about the group and what we do please send an email. If you can’t come but would be interested in finding out more we’d love to hear from you.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandads, stepdads and special father figures in our community! 💙

We loved seeing the children get creative while decorating their Father's Day gifts this year. Each one was personalised with colours, drawings and special messages – made with lots of love and care.

Thank you to everyone who supported the gift sale. We hope the recipients enjoyed their unique presents and appreciated the time and effort that went into making them.
