parents. Ickwell Pre-school opened in 1963 and runs from the Ickwell Village Hall in the idyllic surroundings , where they have daily access to two large main playrooms, a kitchen/office and an enclosed outside play are

a, with a safety surface, which overlooks the village green. We aim to provide good quality education and care for pre-school children between the ages of 2 years 6 months and
5 years old. The Pre-school provides five morning sessions and three afternoon sessions per week (numbers
permitting) and is able to offer 15 hours per week free government funded sessions for 3 year olds. Our latest Ofsted
Inspection found our provision of the Early Years Foundation Stage to be ‘good’ with element of ‘outstanding’. Ickwell_logo

The aims of the Pre-school are to:

Enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age, and to encourage parents to
understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups. We achieve this by:
•Encouraging learning through play

•Encouraging the development of social skills

•Encouraging and supporting parents as educators.

•Providing an early years curriculum, tailored to meet the needs of the individual child

We have had an amazing, week, term and year!
We have finished off the Pre-School year with party week, the children have enjoyed singing, dancing, dressing up, bowling and playing pass the parcel amongst other party games.
We held our graduation ceremony for leavers they are so ready for their next step to school, we couldn’t be prouder of them and wish them all the very best for their futures 😊we will miss you!
We welcome existing children back in September and look forward to hearing all about their summer adventures, on behalf of all the staff at Ickwell Pre-School, we wish you all a fantastic summer break 😊

This week we have been looking at 'Our bodies' from eating healthy, looking after our teeth, exercising and keeping ourselves safe.

The children have had so much fun taking part in cheer leading and multi sports with BTCA and learning some new words in Spanish with Kidslingo.

We break up for half term today and we welcome children back to Pre-school on Monday the 1st of June.

Following children's interests this week we have been learning about different occupations. The children have enjoyed playing the role of a doctor, nurse, police officer, midwife, zoo keeper and more.
We have enjoyed Spanish with Kidslingo and sports with BTCA.
