Yesterday saw CFG members and friends head over to Wattisham for Families Day and Sam's second public flying display. With no grass runway available at Wattisham, the Tiger Moth operated from nearby Elmsett, conveniently located within the Wattisham MATZ.

After the display, the group flew on to Main Hall Farm where they were joined by a few more aircraft, before heading to a local pub for dinner. With seven aircraft dropping into the farm strip, it certainly looked busy!

Days like these are what flying is all about – exploring new places, visiting exciting events, and sharing the adventure with friends.

✈️ Yesterday, CFG instructor Sam Smith took to the skies for his first public flying display, displaying EI at RAF Marham Families' Day. Congratulations, Sam, on this fantastic milestone! 👏

This was part of a group outing by several Old Warden-based aircraft, some of whom were also displaying, with a stop at Nuthampstead for a well-earned pub dinner on the journey home.

Now it's time to do it all again next week as the team heads to RAF Wattisham Families' Day! ✈️🎉

✈️ Another achievement to round off the week - first Tiger Moth solo for James Kinane!

With members making the most of the glorious weather on Thursday and flying late in it to evening, it created the perfect opportunity for James to complete his Tiger Moth conversion.

Last night we welcomed CFG members, friends and family for our annual Summer BBQ. While we were treated to a glorious sunny evening, the crosswind had other ideas, so unfortunately there was no Tiger flying this time.

It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with a buzzing atmosphere and plenty of food for everyone. These evenings are a wonderful chance to relax, catch up with familiar faces, meet fellow Old Warden pilots, and, when the weather cooperates, enjoy a flight in one of the resident aircraft.

✈️ Not long after the gates opened for yesterday's Festival of Flight, our social media team took to the skies for a bird's-eye view of all the action!

With Steph at the controls and Harry behind the camera, they captured the impressive queues of visitors waiting to get in, the keen aviation fans lining the fence as soon as the gates opened, and the stunning line-up of Collection and visiting aircraft as they were positioned ready for the day's flying display.

📸 If you snapped any photos of their flight, be sure to tag us – we'd love to see your shots!

Need to cool off on a hot day? We recommend a Tiger Moth fan... from a safe distance of course!
