We only have a few more days left at our London Road site before we finish for the Summer holidays! We are moving to the Kitelands Road site for September and are looking forward to the new environment and being one big Early years team. We would like to thank our families for their continued support throughout this year and look forward to seeing you all in September. We also look forward to welcoming our new families that will be joining us. Have a safe and enjoyable break.

What a busy week in Blossom.
We have been playing lots of phonics and rhyming games this week , the children have loved the book wocket and my pocket and that has led to lots of extended rhyming.
We have had a beauty salon in the roleplay area which they have all loved and there's been lots of pampering !
The children have been drawing people and sticking wool on to them to create some unique hair styles .
As well as that we have been building, chatting , reading, running, climbing, laughing and singing !
We are all looking forward to lots of fun in the last 2 weeks of term.

The last 2 weeks in Blossom we have been looking at growing and lifecycles .
The children have been planting lettuce and sunflowers to take home , and we have been planting tomatoes, courgettes , lettuce and potatoes to grown in blossom garden 🌻🥗🥔
We have been looking at stories and information books about the growth and change in caterpillars, frogs , flowers and beans .
The children have created some beautiful art work including butterfly painting, number caterpillars and observational paintings of butterflies.
We have had a garden centre/flower shop in the role play area which they have greatly enjoyed.
We have been making the most of the lovely warm weather and spending lots of time outdoors climbing , snail collecting, bug hunting, digging, setting snack and playing games 🌼☀️🏏🏸

The children had a lovely time visiting the farm at pre school. All the children listened very well and they were all so gentle with all the animals.
We saw chickens, sheep, goats, ducks, rabbits, a donkey and a farm dog. The children got to go in with the donkey, sheep and goats, they all got to stroke them.
One of the goats was jumping from one hay bail to another, the children found this very funny. Well done Rabbits and Owlets. 🐔🐇

The Owlets made mini Earths with salad spinners. They were Earth heroes and focused on ' Turning it off!' switching off taps and lights that are not being used. You can find this song on Cbeebies 'Earth Day Heroes'. They also spoke about the importance of recycling. Well done Owlets.

What a lovely end to our Spring term in Owlets. The children all did an amazing job making their Easter bonnets at home to wear for our celebration. They looked for some Easter egg pictures in the garden and sang some favourite songs. We would like to wish all our families a wonderful Easter break. 🦉🐣

Well what a 2 weeks ! Last week really enjoyed 'World Book Day' the children dressed up as book characters and we all shared lots of books throughout day and week
This week we all got involved in stem day , we talked about the planets and we made large collage planets which are displayed on blossom ceiling 🚀🌌👩‍🚀🌍
We have been exploring air and sea travel , and have been creating paintings and drawings of air and water vehicles which they have enjoyed.
We have had an airport role play with luggage, passports and driving the plane which has provoked lots of conversation 😃
In the garden this week we were blossom band , they have been practicing and it sounded awesome 🥁

The children have watched and joined in with some science experiments for STEM this week. They were fascinated by what was happening and listened well to Laura's instructions on her shaving foam and coloured water experiment. Thank you Laura for helping the Owlets 👍

The next experiment was skittles in milk and watching the milk change colour. All the Owlets very much enjoyed watching the skittles and had lots of ideas as to what might happen "the colour will wash away" said one child.

The Owlet children looked amazing dressed up for' World Book Day 'as their favourite characters. We shared lots of stories throughout the day and the children enjoyed looking at books outside in the afternoon. Well done Owlets .

What an amazing and busy start the term in the Owlet room. The children have all settled back well and the new children are quickly learning the routines. Our focus this month has been transport and Julia Donaldson stories. The children have been working hard to make some displays of this around the room. They have been repeating some phrases from their favourite Julia Donaldson stories and been focused at story time. 🦉

Wow what a busy start to the term!
All the new starters in Blossom have settled really well😁
Our topic this half term is animals🐷🐮🦥🐫🐘🦩🦜 , we have been exploring the globe and picture atlas to see where animals live and the what their habitats are like.
We have been creating some beautiful art work and the vets surgery and clothes shop have been a big hit in the roleplay area!
We have been introducing the beebots to the children to experiment with, thinking about simple programming , direction and making predictions .
Looking forward to more fun 😃
