Sometimes the hardest part is simply starting.

Karen did — and she didn’t have to do it alone. 🔱

Our next Athena starts this September and enrolment closes 31st August.

Thinking about it? Maybe send this to the friend you’d do it with 👀

DM ATHENA for details.

Sometimes strength training gives you more than strength. 🔱

Accountability. Friendship. A reason to show up on the days you really can’t be bothered… and apparently plenty of laughing along the way 😂

I loved Angela’s words about why training alongside Karen works so well for them.

They were friends long before Athena, but strength training has become another part of that friendship — and something they’ve continued long after completing the programme.

Athena returns this September.

If you’ve been thinking about starting, maybe this is your sign to grab a friend and do it together. 👀

Enrolment closes 31st August.

DM ATHENA for the details. 🔱

Maybe you’ve been watching Athena for a while thinking… I’d love to do that, but…

I’m not strong enough.
I wouldn’t know what I was doing.
Everyone else will be ahead of me.
I don’t even train at The Unit.

None of those things rule you out.

Athena is designed to meet you where you are and give you the structure, support and confidence to start building strength from there.

And because Athena is delivered online, you don’t need to be local — you can train at your own gym and the coaching comes with you. 🔱

The next 8-week Athena starts 6th September and spaces are already filling up.

Enrolment closes 31st August.

Want to join us?

DM “ATHENA” and I’ll send you the details. 🔱

Week 6 of Athena 🔱

This is what it’s about 🤩

Not just numbers on the bar or changes you can see in the mirror.

Feeling stronger, more confident.
Sleeping better, eating better.
Walking into an environment that once felt completely unfamiliar — and realising you actually belong there!

She started Athena not knowing what to expect. Six weeks later: “I’m just so glad I did this.”

The next 8-week Athena starts in September.

Enrolment closes 31st August. 🔱

DM me ATHENA for the details.

I know I can’t be the only one feeling this. 😅

The summer holidays have been lovely… but they’re also a lot. Between the kids, work, the house and everything else, it’s so easy to put yourself to the bottom of the list.

September always feels like a fresh start.

So if you’ve been thinking, “When the kids go back, I need to make some time for me,” don’t let that thought disappear once the routine kicks back in.

Athena starts this September.

Three hours a week. A brilliant community of women. Strength training designed for peri-menopause, menopause and beyond.

Not to get smaller. To get stronger. 🔱

Drop me a message with ATHENA if you’d like to know more.

“Why do we always squat, deadlift and press?”

The answer is simple: because these movement patterns have some of the strongest evidence behind them for improving strength, function and supporting bone health as we age.

One of the best-known studies in this area, the LIFTMOR Trial (Watson et al., 2018), followed postmenopausal women with osteopenia and osteoporosis through an 8-month supervised strength programme centred around heavy squats, deadlifts and overhead presses.

The results?

🔱 Improved bone mineral density.
🔱 Increased strength.
🔱 Better physical function.

That doesn’t mean everyone needs to barbell squat or deadlift exactly as they did in the study.

Good coaching means applying the same principles to the person in front of you.

That’s why you’ll find these movement patterns in every Athena programme—whether you’re using a barbell, trap bar, dumbbells, kettlebells or machines.

The exercises might look different.

The evidence-based principles don’t.

Halfway through our Summer Athena cohort, and these are the kinds of messages landing in my inbox… 🔱

Not comments about the scales or shrinking themselves.

Instead…

✔️ Looking forward to training.

✔️ Feeling stronger.

✔️ Feeling more confident.

✔️ Everyday tasks becoming easier.

✔️ Building trust in what their bodies can do.

This is exactly what Athena was designed for.

A structured strength programme that meets women where they are and helps them build strength, confidence and capability over time.

Our next cohort starts in September, and if you’d like to be part of it, send me a message with ATHENA and I’ll send you all the details.

There’s no shortage of fitness advice online.

If you’re looking for a coach, look beyond what they say. Look for the people they’ve helped.

Advice is everywhere. Evidence isn’t. 🔱

Ps apologies for the glare against the glasses 🤓 I’m not a proper influencer 🙃

The mission has always been simple.

Strength. Confidence. Capability. 🔱

🟥 PERI/MENOPAUSE RED CARDS 🔱

Not because these things are “bad”…

But because I hear them all the time, and they often stop women from getting the benefits that strength training can bring.

🟥 “I’m too old to start lifting weights.”

It’s never too late to become stronger. Strength is one of the most valuable things you can invest in as you get older.

🟥 “I’ll just do Pilates instead.”

Pilates has some fantastic benefits, but it isn’t a replacement for progressive resistance training if your goal is maintaining muscle and bone health.

🟥 “I’ll just walk more.”

Walking is brilliant for your health, and I encourage it. But on its own, it won’t provide the stimulus needed to build or maintain muscle and strength.

🟥 “I’m looking for the best menopause supplement…”

…before you’ve started strength training.

Supplements can support your health, but they can’t replace the adaptations that come from consistently challenging your muscles.

🟥 “I’ll wait until I feel more confident.”

Confidence doesn’t come before you start.

It comes because you start. 🔱

Which ones did I miss? 🤔
