Our Gr. 3&4 students are growing in their appreciation and understanding of the provinces of Canada as they bring their learning to life through the creation of 3D topographical maps! 🗺️

Through researching landscapes, landforms, and regions, students are discovering the beauty and uniqueness of each province while developing a deeper connection to the places and people that make up our country. What a creative way to learn to love the world God has created!

Our students are ready to give it their all at our Field today! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ From sprinting and jumping to cheering on their teammates, we are so excited to see our students show perseverance, joy, and great sportsmanship throughout the day.

One of our Kindergarten classes recently welcomed a very special classroom helper, Sammie the Snail 🐌! Through their learning about the life cycles of snails and plants, as well as marsh ecosystems, our students are partnering with the Bay Area Restoration Council (BARC) to care for a wetland mini-marsh right in their classroom. Once the plants are large enough, they will be transplanted into Cootes Paradise Marsh as part of the Marsh Restoration Project to help bring balance back to the ecosystem.

What a meaningful and hands-on way for our students to become Order Discoverers, Creation Enjoyers, and Justice Seekers as they learn about caring for God’s world!

We are getting excited to welcome our incoming and prospective Kindergarten students to Stepping Stones! This special orientation is a wonderful opportunity for our newest students and their families to build connections, experience a little of our kindergarten program, and get ready for school.

At the end of this school year, we will say goodbye to Mrs. Michelle DeBoer after an incredible 32 years of faithful service at Wellandport Christian School and Cairn Christian School. Michelle has impacted generations of students—so much so that many of today’s parents once sat in her classroom. The stories, changes, and memories she has been part of over the years could truly fill a book. Michelle, your dedication, care, and commitment to Christian education have left a lasting legacy in our community. May God richly bless you as you step into this new season of retirement. You will be deeply missed.

We are saying farewell at the end of this year to a beloved teacher who has served at Cairn Christian School in Stoney Creek for 39 wonderful years. Ms. Karen Verbruggen has very faithfully shared her love of learning, joyful energy, and deep care for her students over these 39 years. She has inspired generations to love, learn, and lead together in God’s world as she has lived out her Deep Hope and calling as a Christian educator. She is loved and will fondly be remembered by her students for her creativity, her love of reading, and the extra activities she led. Thank you for your dedication and the lasting difference you have made. We are praying for you as you begin this next chapter in your story. Congratulations! You will be greatly missed!

Can we get a shout out to help us celebrate a Happy 25th ‘Cairniversary' to Jer Kingma! Mr. Kingma has faithfully served as a homeroom teacher at both campuses, investing deeply in the lives of students year after year. His passion for sports is well known—especially his unwavering support for the Toronto Maple Leafs—and it often finds its way into his teaching and coaching. Over the years, he has coached nearly every team, always prioritizing relationships, encouragement, and student growth both on and off the field or court. His impact is seen not just in games won, but in the countless students he has mentored and supported along the way.
