IN-HOME or VIRTUAL YOUTH COOKING CLASSES
I have openings for In-Home or Virtual cooking classes in the Greater Hamilton Area
Classes focus on food literacy, life skill building, confidence and fun.
Youth prepare dishes from beginning to end, building their self-esteem and pride in their creation.
They learn and practice food preparation skills and techniques, awareness and connection with ingredients, task and time management, and some cleaning.
Best part, there’s a new dish or two at home to enjoy... if they'll share :)
We use whole foods, accessible ingredients and learn how to prepare their favourites or something new and nourishing.
The number of youths depends on the size of the kitchen (typically 1-3). A public kitchen may be possible if you have 4-6 youth. Please contact me via email or the inquiry link on the website if you’re interested or have questions!

📢Calling all cook-loving youth!
We’re cooking up tasty, fresh and nourishing meals and treats on Saturdays afternoons on Stoney Creek mountain!
Youth practice a variety of food preparation skills, try new foods, and have fun in a supportive kitchen environment. Children take home the food prepared to showcase to their family.
Quotes from youth and parents:
🥦”I wouldn’t change anything. I loved it.”
🥒”Hm I guess I do like zucchini!”
🥕(Parent) “I never thought I liked kale until now. Even my husband liked it.”
🍓 “He (child) told us he loved every second of it.”
🫐“This is so much fun. I want the classes to continue.”
Class after class the youth enjoy their cooked or raw veggies and creations.
Classes are vegetarian but we discuss how they can be integrated into meat dishes.
We use whole ingredients and locally grown food as much as possible.
The summer theme is FUN so we’ll be making colourful and hands-on dishes like:
🔸Fresh rice rolls and dipping sauce
🔸Spiralized salads
🔸Crackers, Hummus and Dip
🔸Granola & Berry Muffins
🔸Youth’s choice!
They’ll get time practicing their chopping, measuring and baking skills, along with critical thinking and teamwork building.
Classes are on Saturdays July 5, 12, 26, and August 9 from 2-4:15pm at Family Church of Heritage Green - 360 Isaac Brock Dr. on Stoney Creek Mountain.
Cost is $200/4-weeks or $52 drop-in (if space is available).

Adult cooking classes are here!
Join us in Stoney Creek on Thursdays for fun, whole-food cooking classes.
The focus is on dishes that are nourishing, simple to assemble, and use general whole food ingredients that can be found in our garden, farm, grocery store and pantry. The ones that were not as familiar with or that we want to use but don’t always get to.
The recipes are designed to consider meal prepping, families and different taste buds.
Each week will be a different theme while also building from the previous.
Most in-class recipes will be vegetarian or vegan, aside from a couple that will include meat.
Paper and e-mail recipes will be provided.
These aren’t just cooking classes but a cooking community.
Build your skills together, share experiences and have fun!

WATCH IT GROW 🌱
Food and ideas begin with a seed.
Plant it. Nurture it. Feed it. Provide it sunlight and a suitable environment and watch it grow.
This applies to ourselves, our children, our skills and our goals just as much as it does with plants.
Join us for summer cooking classes to grow your and your child’s skills in the kitchen and practice with different seasonal ingredients. Have fun and taste delicious food along ways 😁🥗🥧

Another week another group of smiles and tasty dishes.
The students continued with their knife skills as they made Veggie Teriyaki and Cucumber, Avocado and Mango salad 🥒🥑🥭🥗
They especially loved the salad and are excited to recreate it at home.
Including children in the cooking process increases the likelihood that they’ll eat the food.
Join us for a summer class! Schedule coming soon for occasional Friday and Saturday classes.
Happy cooking!

Kids are back in the kitchen!
Youth in Stoney Creek are practicing their measuring, chopping, cooking, cleaning and tasting in our local cooking classes.
Every week we showcase different whole food ingredients to build familiarity and exposure. So far they’ve made hearty soup, salad, breakfast muffins, veggie burgers and sweet potato+rutabaga fries!
They’re having fun and eating up their creations!
