Montessori Sensorial Materials and the connection they make to hands on Montessori Math Materials are some of my absolute favourites. The multi age environment of a Montessori classroom means the materials you worked with last year now look completely different to you when you use them in a higher learning way.

Montessori 3-6 Classroom: Practical Life - Transferring

Some very preliminary trays filled with beautiful little treasures that play to both the child’s Sensitive Period of Order and their Sensitive Period for Small Objects.

When the 3-6 classrooms skew towards being first year heavy, in the first days of school, these little trays help invite the youngest of students to try something new.

They will quickly be replaced with food prep, or laundry, or plant care, but for now in the early days, they are the perfect example of the Prepared Environment being the teacher.
