Heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Trudy Tattersall, who successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation in Interdisciplinary Humanities on July 14, 2026. Trudy has longstanding ties to the Brock History Department, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud.

Her dissertation, supervised by the History Department's Dr. Danny Samson, is entitled, "'A Mingled Yarn': Needlework, Emotional Communities, and Affective Experience in Settler-Colonial Maritime Canada.”

Congratulations to Dr. Renée Girard on receiving the prestigious Canadian Historical Review Best Article Prize for 2025, which recognizes extraordinary scholarship that makes a significant contribution to the field. Her article explores the influence of Indigenous knowledge on European medical practices.
