One fundamental attribute that unites the Department of Biological Sciences and separates us from other departments is the fact that we engage in discovery of the basis of biological variation and innovation. Nevertheless, our interest and engagement in the mechanisms of biological diversity is our greatest strength. We posit that diversity is the core theme of our philosophy.
