This past Tuesday, staff and students gathered for their first Virtue of the Month Assembly, beginning with the virtue of prudence: learning to recognize what is truly good and choosing the right way to act.

Our students reflected on the virtues, the role of God’s grace in helping us grow in holiness, and the beautiful example of St. Joseph, Joseph most prudent, who listened to God and responded faithfully.

We are so grateful to Mr. Lenjosek and our entire staff for their “yes” to Jesus and their “yes” to St. Joseph Academy. Each day, they are helping form our children not only academically, but in character, virtue, faith, and holiness.

This is at the heart of our mission: forming minds and hearts for Christ, one virtue at a time.

Four days ago, my husband and I said a prayer that SJA would receive just one more monthly donor.

The next morning, we woke up to find that one of our existing donors had increased their monthly gift by another $50, for the second time, and that someone had made a one-time donation of $3,000.

There are truly no words to express our gratitude.

We are a not-for-profit school. Our board members make no money for the work we have done over the last two years, and we pay full tuition for our own children.

We started this school because we believe God told us to, and because we believe deeply in the mission of intentionally forming the next generation of saints through faith formation and excellent academics.

Every time someone chooses to support this mission, it helps relieve the financial pressure of having to borrow money and pay interest, while allowing us to continue working hard to pay our teachers a fair and livable wage.

If you feel it on your heart to give $10, $25, $50, or $100 a month, or to make a one-time donation, please know that every donor is offered up in prayer.

We are more thankful than we could ever express.

Last week was a beautiful week at St. Joseph Academy as we celebrated the beginning of our second year.

On Wednesday, our school community gathered for our opening assembly, and on Thursday evening, we welcomed families for a parent BBQ and a chance to see our freshly painted and redesigned classrooms. Children proudly toured their parents through their classrooms, explored the Montessori materials they have grown familiar with, and played in the gym while parents connected over smoked ribs, pizza, and plenty more.

As a Board, it is remarkable to see how much God has blessed this mission in just one year. Our student body has doubled, and we have been blessed with Mr. Lenjosek, our dedicated staff, wonderful families, and students who bring these classrooms to life each day.

We are deeply grateful, remembering always that this mission has never truly been ours. We have simply been entrusted with it.

May we continue to serve it faithfully and humbly.

Across Ontario, too many students are struggling to meet basic academic standards, especially in mathematics and language.

At St. Joseph Academy, we are building something different. Our custom Petros Education curriculum is rigorously researched, carefully sequenced, and designed for mastery. Students benefit from UFLI Foundations in the early years of language, Singapore-inspired mathematics, strong science instruction, engineering beginning in Grade 1, coding and computational thinking, ancient civilizations and classical history, daily Latin from Grade 3 onward, and a serious focus on both the visual and performing arts.

We believe a strong education should be broad and well rounded. Students should not only become excellent readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientific thinkers, but should also develop creativity, strong learning habits, sound judgement, and a love of truth, goodness, and beauty. That whole-person formation is central to our program.

With small classes, direct teaching, strong individualized support, and authentic Catholic formation, our goal is to give students an exceptional education that prepares them to thrive in high school and beyond.

St. Joseph Academy’s upcoming Comedy Night has been cancelled.

All ticket purchases will be fully refunded this week. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank everyone who planned to join us and support our school.

This morning, the assembly room of St. Joseph Academy was buzzing. Students were excited. Parents were smiling. Classrooms were beautiful and freshly painted. Backpacks waiting to be hung from new hooks on the walls. Every little detail was ready to welcome our students.

For our returning students, there was something especially beautiful about walking through those doors today and seeing their little school double in size in just one year.

We are incredibly thankful for the leadership of Mr. Lenjosek, and for the faithful service of Ms. Lesica, Mrs. Marino, Mr. Lenz, and our Learning Resource Teacher, Mrs. Orr. Each has said yes to something much bigger than a job. They have entrusted their gifts to the formation of these children.

At the heart of St. Joseph Academy is a simple but profound mission: to form children in authentic Catholic faith and academic excellence, helping them grow in wisdom, virtue, knowledge, and above all, holiness.

A year ago, we opened our doors in faith.

Today, we opened them again with twice as many children walking through them.

Day One. Year Two. Deo gratias.
