North End Co-Op Preschool provides a quality learning experience for children aged 2.5 - 4. Catharines Fire Department.

The program at North End Co-operative Preschool is designed to enrich the learning experience of 2 ½ to 4 year old children. Our mission statement says: “The mission of the North End Co-operative Preschool is to provide a parent-involved nursery school, committed to the physical, emotional, social and cognitive development of young children within the St. Catharines area.”

Preschool is a registered non profit charitable organization that has been in operation since February 1976. As a co-operative preschool, parents are required to assist in the operation of the school in some capacity. Parents serve as Officers on the Board of Directors, attend meetings and work on committees. We are financed by parent’s fees and proceeds from various fundraising activities. The school is licensed and inspected annually by the Ministry of Education – Child Care and Early Years Act 2014, and inspected annually by the Niagara Regional Health Department and the St. We offer:
> 2 day programs (Mon/Wed or Tues-Thurs)
> 3 day programs ((Mon/Wed/Fri or Tues/Thurs/Fri)

All classes run from 9-11:30am

Parents are given the opportunity to volunteer in the classroom, if they desire. We have two staff, both qualified Early Childhood Educators to teach the children. All parents commit to fundraising and committee participation, as well as the ability to serve on the Board of Directors. We provide a fully inclusive atmosphere that supports each child's development. For additional support needs, a Resource Consultant can be accessed through our program. Early intervention is the key to helping children thrive. Each class consists of:
> Gross motor play (outdoor or in the gym)
> Washroom (reinforcement of proper handwashing routine)
> Snack (following guidelines as set out by the Day Nurseries Act)
> Opening Circle (discussion of weather, age appropriate letter learning)
> Free play time with developmentally appropriate toys
> Circle Time (songs, stories, creative movement)

We also offer field trips and host community visitors such as the Fire Department and Mad Science.

🎓 Graduation week is finally here!

It’s hard to believe another amazing year at North End Co-Op Preschool is coming to an end. Our children have been busy practicing their songs and performances, and we can’t wait to celebrate all they’ve learned and accomplished at this week’s graduation ceremonies.

A huge thank you to our incredible families for your support, participation, and dedication throughout the year. The co-operative spirit is what makes our school such a special place! ❤️

Friendly reminder that our Farm Trip is happening tomorrow for the T/Thu & PM classes, and Friday for the M/W/F class! 🐐🐓

We will be meeting at Benchview Farm at 9:30am - 395 Concession 6 Rd., NOTL, L0S 1J0

Please dress appropriately for the weather. There is not a lot of shade, so don’t forget:
🧴 Sunscreen
🧢 Hats
💧 Water bottles if needed

We’ll be enjoying our snack together under a tented area at the end of the morning!

🌊🐠 We’re diving into OCEANS! 🐙🐢

Our classroom has been full of underwater adventures as we explore everything under the sea! From learning about ocean animals 🐟, to discovering aquariums 🪸, to imagining what it’s like to travel deep underwater…

Yesterday, we even climbed aboard our very own yellow submarine and set off on a pretend ocean journey! You never know what we might discover beneath the waves! 🌊

We’ve also been learning about marine biologists and the important work they do to study and protect our oceans 🌎💙
