Rolling and unrolling a work mat, is a hands-on preliminary exercise activity from the “Practical Life” unit in the amazing Montessori curriculum.

Designed for small groups, this lesson builds key developmental outcomes across multiple age groups. Here, our youngest students are engaged in their work cycle lesson.

🌿 The work mat defines the child’s workspace and teaches respect for personal and others’ work areas. It’s one of the first lessons in the Montessori classroom!

🌿 Key learning outcomes include:

Learning workspace preparation and order
Develop rolling and unrolling coordination; fine motor skills
Understanding and respect for work boundaries.
