Our online and social media spaces are extensions of the DSBN and our policies, procedures, codes of behaviour and the rules below apply to everyone using these virtual spaces. Below are our Terms of Use for everyone engaging with our social media channels. This includes our DSBN system channels as well as channels owned and operated by DSBN schools. We will take action, including but not limited to, blocking and/or banning accounts and/or individual posts to ensure that these platforms continue to be safe, inclusive spaces to celebrate education and share information about the DSBN. DSBN Social Media Terms of Use:
Individuals engaging with any DSBN social media, including posting and engagement such as comments, may not post any content that:
• Is hateful, defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, factually inaccurate, pornographic, or sexually explicit content
• Threatens or intimidates any person or suggests violence, hatred, or discrimination toward others
• Uses hateful, inappropriate and/or abusive language or conduct
• Constitutes messages of sexual harassment or which contains inappropriate romantic overtones
• Advocates for illegal acts or facilitate unlawful activity
• Encourages the use of controlled substances, participation in an illegal act or uses the system to incite criminal actions
• Contains personal information, images, or signatures of individuals without their prior informed and given consent
• Has inappropriate religious or political messages
• Solicits any users on behalf of any business or commercial organization without appropriate authorization
• Supports bulk mail, junk mail or "spamming"
• Propagates chain letters or other e-mail debris
• Attempts to hide, disguise, or misrepresent the identity of the sender
• Violates or infringes upon the rights of any other person according to DSBN policies, Ministry of Education policies, the Ontario Human Rights Code, or the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms
