On August 23, we recognize the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition. Established by UNESCO, this observance encourages people around the world to learn about and reflect on the history of the transatlantic slave trade, its lasting impacts, and the struggles for freedom and human dignity that helped bring an end to slavery.

Welcome back to Get Ready for Kindergarten, our summer series sharing simple, practical ways to help your child feel confident as they head into school.

Social skills grow through everyday play and conversation. Practicing things like taking turns, setting boundaries, and joining in with others can help children feel more comfortable building friendships and navigating new situations.

Learning how to say “no,” ask to play, and share their feelings also helps children feel safe, respected, and included. And when they need support, they can always turn to a trusted adult.
There are no pre-requisites for Kindergarten. Our caring educators are ready to meet your child where they are and support their growth every step of the way.
