We begin with the premise that these subjects are more complicated than the familiar Christian instruction to “forgive.” While Jesus’ teachings call his followers away from retaliation and toward mercy, there’s also a recognition of wrongdoing, injustice, grief, anger, accountability, and the need for changed behaviour. This is a discussion group to honestly explore and wrestle with Jesus’ extraordinary teachings and perhaps come to new understandings of what forgiveness and reconciliation look like in our lives.
