Always a great day when Mike from TPI stops by! 🔥🔧

Mike Stewart from TPI Test Products International, Inc. was back at Niagara & Halton Skilled Trades Academy, sharing his knowledge and experience with our G2 students in Niagara.

Mike has been part of the NHSTA & HSTA story for over 20 years, regularly visiting our campuses and helping bring real-world industry knowledge directly into the classroom.

During his presentation, students got a closer look at combustion analysis, including how to properly read results, what technicians should be looking for in the field, and how the right tools can help diagnose equipment safely and accurately.

Mike also introduced students to some of the latest tools and technology from TPI and answered questions along the way.

A huge thank you to Mike for continuing to take the time to educate the next generation of HVAC technicians. 20+ years later, we’re still always happy to have you in the classroom!

DO YOU NEED YOUR 500 HOURS TO MOVE FROM YOUR G2 TO G1?

For many Gas Technicians, the biggest hurdle to moving up to a Gas Technician 1 licence isn’t ambition - it’s getting the required experience on larger equipment.

That’s where our part-time G1 Gap Program comes in - to replace the 500 hours needed.

This TSSA-recognized pathway gives qualified G2 technicians an alternative way to satisfy the 500-hour experience requirement on equipment firing over 400,000 Btuh, without having to find those hours in the field first.

🔧 Structured, hands-on training (part-time, 2 nights a week)
🔥 Work with over 400,000 Btuh state of the art equipment in our shop
✅ Designed for G2 technicians with at least 2 years / 4,000 hours of experience
📈 Complete the Gap Program, then move on to an accredited Gas Technician 1 program

if you’re ready to take the next step forward and acquire your hours then the gap program is for you!

📍 G1 Gap Program | October 6, 2026 | Niagara Campus
📍 Gas Technician 1 Program | January 5, 2027 | Niagara Campus

We’re proud of our partnership with DEWALT and the value it brings to our students. Having the support of an industry-leading brand helps us provide the tools, equipment and real-world training environment students need as they build their careers in the skilled trades.
