We are humbly asking for your support... See WISHLIST of Donation Items below...

As many of you know, on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, a fire broke out at the National Association of Estheticians (NAE) and Beauty BarOne, around 3am, causing an estimated $1 Million dollars in damages and loss.

Unfortunately, the fire ravaged the entire floor of our beauty school and tenants’ units in which sentimental items, furniture, equipment, stock and much more, was lost. The fire devastated the entirety of our 18 units at 437 Welland Ave., St. Catharines. This tragedy has impacted dozens of businesses, students, and employees - many are without an income and workspace only days before Christmas.

The National Association of Estheticians is a beauty school established in 2020. Kalleigh Sharp, built this business with passion and hope for providing a way for young women to become independent and successful entrepreneurs, and with the hard work of many supportive women along the way. After completing many esthetics programs herself, and with a small business grant, Kalleigh wrote 25 instructional books and began to launch the school.

NAE provides training workshops to help women become successful beauticians at affordable pricing. We have certified over 400 students to date. We recently began scholarship and grant programs to help fund low-income women, young women, and single mothers, to give them hope and financial independence for their future.

Not only does NAE provides training for aspiring Estheticians and young entrepreneurs, but Beauty BarOne has become home to over a dozen femmepreneurs who subleased spaces. Beauty BarOne has 18 units which provides workspaces to lash technicians, tattoo artists, beauticians, clothing designers, nurse Injectors and many more. Many of our entrepreneurs are single moms, young entrepreneurs, mothers, and women just beginning to build their businesses.

AITA R/AmItheAsshole -- Idk what do to & I'm SCARED to go to work

TODAY I realised... AM I THE AS***LE???

I have a beauty school business in Ontario. It happens to be next to a place called positive living, which is a government funded safe injection site. Pretty much people who have addiction go there and get a safe needle kit and the clinic watches them do the drugs to make sure they dont OD, or watches them for 30 minutes after and then lets them go in the community (high or not).

If someone needs more needles to do drugs at home they give the take home needles and a kit.

Well, today, one of those community members went into my building and did the drugs in the bathroom and locked themselves in for 30 minutes.

At my beauty school, there are children, students, clients and staff. Children were present during this incident.

When I realized what was going on I knocked on the bathroom over and over. I heard a mans voice. I told him no one knows who he is and he has to leave. He claimed to be a plumber and I heard the toilet flush 3x. I also heard the shower start to run.

I told him I'm calling the police and I need him to leave. He told me to go ahead and call them and told me he'll cut me. He also called me a bitch ect.

So he's not wanting to leave and I'm really stressed so I end up pushing the door in to see who is on the other side (yes- in hindsight I should have called the police instead of pushing threw the door... I totally agree I wasn't thinking logically because I was scared).

This man is in his underwear, about to start a shower... a crack pipe on the floor. Needles present. Food, clothes, narcotics, and the CTS injection site take home kit on the floor. He's wearing dog chains. He told me he came from across the street and continued saying he was a plumber (dillusional bc the drugs).

I left to go to the neighbour next door - positive living, and they didn't want to help me even tho he had a supply needle kit from there business.. so I called 911.

Eventually he leaves and police arrive and now I am scared to handle these situations so kind of want to carry a protectice self defense device, maybe a self made spray or mace. But that is illegal in canada so I don't know what to do and I'm scared to go to work.
